Fights (Biffs)

I'm relatively new to the sport of Rugby League and like others on this forum i haven't been brought up on the game (soccer in fact), but yet i have grown to love the mix of agression, skill and speed of the game. Today i was just sitting here thinking how many fights were there in the NRL last year and which ones were the best?

But the poms are definitelty better at sheap head shots,no doubtd there. ;-) ;-)

The dust-up between the Warriors and Broncos in Auckland was up there, with four players ending up in the bin and Casey Mcguire ending up with a very sore head. Plenty of big hits too with Villisanti flattening Webcke and Francis Meli poleaxing at least two of the Brisbane outside backs.

agreed space monkey, that was a mad fight. think it was guitunbiel (yes ok maybe not right spelling) who ripped mcguire out of the bunch and just kept uppercutting him, that was so good

Yeah it was Guttenbeil who gave McGuire a toweling. Monty Betham and Carl Webb (both of whom know how to fight) were in on it too.
I loved how one of the League mags gave McGuire the "what did I do that for?" award for getting himself into that one!

I don't remember any other biffs during the year.

Tallis vs Ross was like girls fighting, The warriors vs brsibane fight was the best in many years!! Probaly the best since the all in brawl between NSW and QLD in 97, Or the Warriors vs The Cowboys a couple years ago...

Was that the one where Tony Tuimavave and one of the Cowboys players were going at it hammer and tongs on the sideline and they knocked over a couple of the Cowboys cheergirls in the process? That game was great, from memory we won it with 12 men after Lauiti'iti got sent off for a nothing high tackle, and Shaun Valentine got stretchered off out cold after Talite Liava'a buried him with the hit of the year. Valentine retired a season or so later after getting KO'd one too many times.

2000 - The "Cheergirl brawl" against the Cowboys
2001 - Steve Reardon cops "the full Monty"
2002 - Campion shows Webke what he really though of him at Brisbane
2003 - Casey McGuire thinks "Geez I really shouldn'tve done that!"
2004 - WHO WANTS SOME???!!!!!
