Apparantly Real told Figo he could go on a free transfer if he found the right club.
Liverpool mustn't be the right club.
Anyway a decision will be made by the Real President in regards to a fee.
He would be an excellent addition to the Liverpool squad. I hope we get him.
Crouch is still negotiating with Liverpool but the rumours are that Benitez has started talks with Michael Owen.
I know the Owen rumours have circulated since he left but they seem to be gaining momentum.
Just got to find a centre back and a defender and I think we'll be right amongst them this year.

on his old legs, would last 2 seasons max, but he can really cause damage in the premier league. a world class player with a library of tricks. im hoping we get him too.

I think he'll play well along side players like gerrard and Riise.

Figo would be a good signing for Liverpool, although he's really getting on. As a Barca fan I despise him and think of him as a mercenary and a traitor but he's a good player with alot of experience. Still think his best years were at Barcelona.

The next 48 hours will tell if Figo is a Liverpool player.
Some sources say he will sign on Monday.

Figo might spell the end for Harry Kewell at Liverpool unfortunately, or relegate him to permanent benchie

kewell would serve as a striker if figo came to liverpool.

you need 4 quality strikers on a rotation basis to consistently net goals and match it with the top sides. baros, morientes, cisse and kewell.

I dont know that Baros will be at Liverpool by the time the Premiership kicks off.
I hope he is but it looks like Crouch is coming in and the 2 French Youngsters-Le Tallec and Sinama-Pongolle are still around.
Mellor is too I think.

Figo will sign for Inter at the end of the week. He is expected to join on a two year deal. Walter Samuel is also expected to join inter on loan by the end of the week.

Looks like the deal for both of them will be inked tomorrow.

Figo for 2 years at 2.5 mil per season. Walter Samuel on a 1 years loan unless Real can find a replacement.

I am happy to get Samuel not so sure about Figo. At least he gives us a wide option.

Crouch has signed for Liverpool for 6 million plus up to another million depending on circumstances.
Dont write Figo off to Liverpool just yet.
They are still very interested and are just waiting for Figo to arrange a settlement with Real.
Inter and Valencia have been mentioned but Liverpool are still hoping to capture Figo by the end of the week.(he's flown to China with Real I think).

Its good to see Benitez has been given the ECL winners booty to sepnd, 20 million pounds this summer already. The biggest problem with Liverpool last year was the quality in the squad outside the first team was quite poor.
Crouch is a good acquisition and it gives us another dimension being a tall rangey striker who is great in the air. Baros will be sold very shortly however and has not been allowed to play in either the ECL qualifiers so as not to be cup tied.

Figo would be a fantastic bonus but they really need to pick up Milito or another centre back as we are sadly lacking in depth for this position as Pellegrino was shown the door.

pure speculation. one thing he's signing for Liverpool, the next its Inter. What will be next? Sydney FC? God.. and besides, Kewell's position is not under threat if Figo does join. Figo is naturally a right-sided player and does not pose as much attacking pace these days.

He is too. My mistake, and I have seen him at the Bernabau so I should know.
The rumours are getting stronger for Liverpool over Inter by possibly tomorrow.

Figo has decided he's staying in Madrid after all.

Actually he has decided he doesn't want to play for Inter. The Liverpool deal could still be on but the problem is the wages. he is currently on 85 000 pounds a week and Liverpool are offering 60 000.
