Well considering the "cat is out of the bag" (as there has been no announcement made by the actual people), I will say it is being lead by a close contact, another contact and in part myself (the first 2 are currently in Fiji)

It isn't the "Fiji Residents team" - and that isn't the nickname. The name hasn't been decided or put to the public (and there is far more important things first).

It is actually an independent bid/organisation, but has approval/partnership with the FNRL.

Considering work had only begun on the proposals In Feb, it's been quite "quick" but very positive with many aspects

National Stadium (currently known as ANZ Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Suva, Fiji. It was constructed in 1979 for the 6th South Pacific Games . In 2012 the Stadium underwent an extensive FJD $17.5 Million dollar renovation and re-opened in March 2013.

It is currently used mostly for rugby league, rugby union and football matches. The stadium has undercover seating for 4000 people and an embankment that can cater for an additional 15,000.

yeah all Fijian based players and full-time program and home games likely at ANZ Stadium (Suva, Central Fiji/east of the main island) - apparently its 30,000 all up (but will know exact details next week). But, there could be potential for a few games at roughly 18,000 capacity Churchill Park Lautoka (west fiji, west of the main island)

This news has made my day. Awesome mate, good luck with it all.

that's living the dream. do you mean comp. or team? PNG is in the Qld comp and it would make better sense for Fiji to join that comp as at it has better TV ratings than NSW comp. NRL clubs will never share their pie with Fiji samoa tonga etc as they get the players now cheap rather than helping set up clubs to reduce their player pool and increase the player payments.

Be great to see them in the NSW cup.

Just looking at an old thread resurrected here today and it's timely when you think how the Hunters are going and what this could do for the Fijian Rugby League.

It would be massive for the game in Fiji. With a way of having Fijians competing in a semi-professional comp, think of how many converts there potentially could be from RU. It would certainly rattle a few cages!
