With Fiji's injuries, I think we'll probably see Lote and Radradra playing centres and Koroibete and Nabuli on the wings.
Really interested to see this Samoan side.

This is taking the p**s surely? Milford is going to turn out in an under 20s curtain raiser to the Samoa-Fiji test. This obsession with Origin over international football is a disgrace and getting out of hand. Why doesn't every player in the NRL and SL just declare for NWS/QLD and Australia and let's be done with it! We could have a two-state rugby league series sitting right up there with the Olympics and Soccer World Cups.

If was on the Samoan RL board I'd play nicely for the next four years and at the eleventh hour I'd tell the Aussies where to shove their WC thus fecking up their precious tournament. I fecking despise Ricky Stuart more and more by the hour.

Yeah how dare a kid born and bred in Brisbane want to represent Queensland and Australia. I want to see international rugby league as strong as possible but you can't begrudge a kid wanting to represent his actual state and country

I agree but then he shouldn't insult us all by playing for Samoa in the first place. How can Walters say the situation of Milford playing a junior SoO just before a Samoa v Fiji full international was out of his hands baffles me. Milford has chosen an U20s game over a full international match involving a nation he allegedly has an emotional tie with or was it because playing for Samoa got him a gig at a WC and put him in the shop window for SoO?

Milford played for qld 20's last year, that is obviously where his heart lies. If we allow nations such as Samoa to always pick players using the heritage rule and allow nation swapping as much as we do, players aren't going to stick with them and their 'national' squad will constantly be changing. If we allow players to play both origin and for another country, what happens one day when we hopefully have stand alone rep weekends and they have to choose between playing for qld or Samoa? I don't care that Milford isn't playing for Samoa, I wish he never had and they had a player who sees playing for their country as the ultimate!

That was Joseph Paulo. This Junior Paulo is not related to Joseph Paulo or Josephs brother Junior Paulo.

Ah of course! Thanks!

Score prediction, Samoa 28 - Fiji 24.

Although I really hope Fiji win, they deserve to be in the four nations. 4th in last two rlwc's, domestic development, players actually from Fiji. I hope they win but I have a feeling Samoa might aim up for once!

back to Milford. I thought the 'new rule' meant that he could play Samoa this weekend AND Qld in a few weeks????
or did I misunderstand?

(BTW not commenting that I think it is correct - just on the meaning or the 'new rule')

As far as I'm aware that is the rule but Stuart and Meninga have been bending Milford's ear. How many international matches did those two play in? Yet they still put SoO above all their Kangaroo appearances.

It does and he can! That's the worst part. Apparently, this has come about after a long chat with Mal Menniga who has probably said, play in the U20s and I will have a look at you for the main series this year. They have to justify putting this on.

Suddenly, Samoa-Fiji became an inconvenience to this regime. The U20s and emerging Queensland is a sneaky lock-in to tempt those players in two minds.

Also interesting that nz have picked a Cook Islands WC player in Isaac John, Samoa picked another Cook Islands player in Dominic peyroux, Samoa picked nz player krisnan inu, tariq sims has brushed Fiji to play for country origin. It's all one big mess!

Everybody is eligible for anybody again because its the start of a new World Cup cycle apparently. Which is an absolutely stupid way of doing things. By the time the next World Cup comes along players will break the rules anyway, so we may as well not have any.
