Final top 8?

If Sharks lose could they drop out? On 27, Raiders/Knights win 2/3, Broncos and Tigers win 1/3 while Sharks go winless? For their sakes I hope not.

Seriously this is why we need a Top 6, rather than a Top 8.

After the spankings the Raiders have copped this year they should not be in finals contention.

We just need 2 more teams, and keep the top 8. It would sort itself out.

It's an even year so Raiders will scrape in again. We did it in 02, 04 and 06. Made it comfortably in 08 and 10.

Cronulla and Brisbane are in the most danger of missing out to Newcastle and Canberra.

knights and raiders will both miss out imo. And they are the only teams in contention.

i think the top 8 will be as it is today, albeit in a slightly different order

I ended up with

1. Bulldogs
2. Melbourne
3. Manly
4. Souths
5. Cowboys
6. Tigers
7. Sharks
8. Broncos (qualifying comfortably on f/a over the Raiders)

Maybe a little bit of wishful thinking with a couple of last round scores, but that would be a great first round of the finals

Melbourne vs Manly
Bulldogs vs Souths
Tigers vs Sharks
Broncos vs Cowboys

Thats very close to what Ive predicted, except swap Manly and Melbourne.

These games will be blockbusters no doubt. Hard to pick a winner.

couldnt agree more,
the fact both the raiders and knights are in contention for the finals is an indictment on the top 8.

Clearly posted as an avid raiders fans

Cronulla and Brisbane both have very tough draws. Unfortunately for the Knights, they probably have the toughest. Manly followed by Nth QLD, both away from home. They then get their usual end of season bye in round 26, but it could all be over by then.

Huge weekend of footy this week.

1st v 8th - Dogs v Tigers
2nd v 7th - Storm v Broncos
3rd v 6th - Souths v Sharks
4th v 9th - Sea Eagles v Knights

Both the top 4, and bottom 4 of the top 8 could become a lot clearer after this week.

Well done to the Knights for making a late run, the way they are playing i think they will just scrape in, at the expense of Cronulla (unfortunately)

I think Canberra will miss out, due to playing Hot and Cold

as someone else said it should be a Cracker This Weekend

I too see the Sharks missing out, but I see the Raiders scraping in.

Sharks, Broncos & Tigers are in danger mainly because of their fairly difficult remaining draws.

Sharks: Souths (H), Storm (A), Cowboys (H)
Broncos: Storm (H), Manly (A), Panthers (H)
Tigers: Bulldogs (H), Roosters (A), Storm (H)

I'd say there is a good chance that those 3 teams will get a maximum of 1 win from their remaining 3 games.

The Knights would still have to improve out of sight to make it.

Raiders who knows...

Titans would probably need to win 3/3 to be any chance which means beating Manly at home.

If Knights can jag a miracle win against Manly I think they'll be there. Sharks look most likely to drop out at the moment, followed by Tigers (just because Broncos F/A is better), if any.

Ok i did the ladder predictor mine came out like this for the top 8

1. Bulldogs - 40
2. Storm - 38
3. Rabbitohs - 38
4. Sea Eagles - 34
5. Cowboys - 32
6. Tigers - 30
7. Sharks - 29
8. Raiders - 28

Broncos and Knights miss out by 1 win.

Finals week 1

1st Bulldogs v 4th Sea Eagles
2nd Storm v 3rd Rabbitohs
5th Cowboys v 8th Raiders
6th Tigers v 7th Sharks

first week in i think Raiders and Tigers will be knocked out

Have the Broncos, Titans, Knights, Tigers, Raiders all on 28 points, whoever has the best F/A will make 7th and 8th.

Sharks won't win another game this year based on last night. Gallen is clearly playing injured, and Carney is busted.

I think we are going to see 6th, 7th and 8th all end up on 28 points with only for & against seperating them.

I cant see the Sharks winning any of their remaining games, they are done. I think that draw against the roosters is going to cost them in the end, not benefit them.

It's also very likely the Tigers and Broncos will only win 1 of their remaining games, meaning both teams will finish on 28 points.

It would be a miracle if one of the Raiders or Knights win their last 3 games but either team could win 2. Knights are in pretty good form and the raiders have 2 very winnable games.

Titans and Dragons must win their last 3 games to be a mathematical chance, i can't see it happening.

I wonder what compensation the NRL will give the Sharks given that they have admitted to twice making an error in golden point which lead directly to the opposition winning.

The referees will have cost the Sharks a place in the finals.
