the two best clubs of the modern era finally face off in the big one.

easily the clash of the two most likeable clubs with the most knowledgeable supporter bases will go along way to restoring pride & passion to a game torn asunder by cap-rorting & betting scandals.

in seasons past, both clubs have been denied the glory owed to them by both the league & the corporate villains courtesy of corruption & scandal. for over thirty years, the collective stain of evil has all but once (courtesy of cap-rorting which couldn't be swept under the carpet in '02) prevented both clubs from their rightful role as the two pre-eminent rugby league teams in australia.

sit back fans. drink it in. this is as footy should be. the game is embarking upon a renaissance. by sunday night, after a week of gentlemanly sportsmanship & respect, we will have all collectively released ourselves from the mediocrity & pettiness & moved into the sunlit uplands of righteousness & pride where the league belongs.

btw, melon, danish, kungal, ace, ovp, stalin & co are all ankle-ticklers.

You could say the same about Parra and Manly, but I get where you are coming from.
Innit funny how the evils of the code conspire to shackle the natural success of Sydney sides (bar Souths and Cronulla who are always sh*t) and make the non Sydney sides look better?

clearly the public still isn't ready.

the great unwashed still enjoy soap opera. enlightenment represents threat to the ill-educated oafs that still dwell amongst us.

we have reached the key moment in rugby league history. we can either embrace culture or remain in the dark ages.

a wonderful future of this code is being promoted. we collectively do not deserve it given our ambivalence for 30 years, but here it is. a last chance to embrace light over darkness.

be worthy of this opportunity.

You'd think that, wouldn't you? But the "other guys" can clearly only refer to the Roosters, as St. George-Illawarra are self-evidently the most awesome rugby league club in the universe.
