Finals Week 2

Panthers would have killed so be so unaffected by injury.

Ballin is the biggest loss. Spine players are harder to cover. But of the spine, Ballin would be the easiest. So if Brett Stewart plays, its doable. Just not in the form they have been in the past month and a bit.

Penrith virtually went the first 20 rounds uneffected by injury, hence their position on the ladder. Even now who are you missing? From what I see you are missing 2 of your starting 13 in Wallace and Taylor.

Only Whare and Moylan have played every game.

ATM Wallace or John would be in front of Smith if not injured

Taylor, Peachey, Docker all not there that are top 17.

Cartwright, Yeo backup players gone. Tim Grant injured now

that's hardly an injury crisis.

Wouldn't it be better to wait until we are at least half way through week one before we start discussing week two

You're kidding right? We've had. players in and out all year like every team. Then come round 19 onwards the injuries have been more severe.

9+ players out since round 20 isn't an injury crisis? We hit 11 players missing against Manly.

7. Wallace
8. Kite
9. Segeyaro
10. Latimore
11. Peachey
12. Cartwright
13. Taylor

All part of a full strength team. Plus missing:
Yeo - forced his way into our starting pack with injuries and his great form
Kingston - our backup hooker
John - our backup halfback
Simmons - not sure where he is in the. pecking order now
But he was part of our full strength team before his injury.

Throw in Docker and Grant this week, but take out Kite and Segeyaro. We just have good depth. Our reserve grade side finished 5 or 6 wins clear of second, annihilated 4th place in week 1 of finals despite losing players to injury themselves and having guys promoted to first grade due to their injuries.

Our injury crisis doesn't compare to the Tigers or Sharks. Given we are playing for a premiership though its pretty brutal and far worse than any other side vaguely in contention.

Given the way our side plays with our centres and back rowers being heavily involved in play making, Peachey and Cartwright out is a big deal. Luckily Soward has gone super saiyan.

No one is arguing that. In fact it had already been stated 2 posts above yours. I think the reason it gets harped on by Panthers fans is up until the last week or so it has been given very little media attention. (Compared to other teams) anyhow, enough moaning about injuries. I am pretty happy with the 17 that will run out on Saturday.

Sharks got the spoon, We are in the top four. Wallace, Simmons, Taylor, Peachey, Docker, Cartwright, Latimore, would all be in our 17 this week if they were fit. Yeo and Isaac John would be there above some guys playing this week as well.

What other side in the 8 has a comparable injury list?

Latimore and Simmons have been included in this weeks team...

Penrith unavailable list very similar to the Roosters this week.

Wallace, Taylor, Peachey, Docker & Cartwright

Friend, Napa, Guerra & Nuuausala.

Yep.

Using our 5th choice half to partner Soward.
Using our 6th, 7th and 8th choice forwards in Robinson, Anderson and BMM.

Halves Pecking Order:
6. Jamie Soward (moves to 7 when our first two halfbacks are out)
7. Peter Wallace, Isaac John, Tyrone Peachey, Bryce Cartwright, Will Smith

Forwards pecking order (roughly)
McKendry, Segeyaro, Kite, Peachey, Cartwright, Taylor, Brown, Manu, Plum, Docker, Latimore, Yeo, Grant, Kingston, Robinson, Anderson, BMM

9 players are unavailable for the Panthers. Mostly stacked up between the halves and second row. Meaning the players who are selected are not simply our second choice players. They're well and truly down the list for selection. The likes of Robinson, Anderson and BMM are only in the team because they have 7 injured or suspended players out to make way for them.

The injury toll is not as bad as the Sharks. But who ever said that it was? Missing more then half a starting side worth of talent is a big deal, especially in the finals. Yet Panthers have played the last 6 weeks with 9+ players unavailable for selection, and won 4 of those matches against sides that were not far off full strength. Many people in here saw the Panthers run home, their injury list and were backing them to lose their remaining games and miss the finals.

No other side has covered injury aswell as the Panthers have this season. The similarly depleted sides (and sides who are worse off) have fallen in a heap and lost most of their games and by big margins.

Certainly comes close if you just don't include some of the names.

Grant, Yeo. Simmons is not 100% to be available. Jennings and John would be in the team of fit. Kingston may have benched.

I guess the nice thing for you guys is youll be at full strength minus FPN on grand final day. The good thing for us is we have had a little while to adjust to playing without those guys now.

Anyway the discussion is going around in circles. These teams normally have pretty good clashes so hopefully we get another.

Penmyth fans already getting their excuses ready for when they go out in straight sets:lol:
Nothing you've typed so far has happened, but keep up the dribbling. Eventually you may be right. If Penrith don't win the comp, I guess you'll be declaring yourself a genius.
