You know what is holding the game back? Nine teams in Sydney. Merge or relocate some of them and that will free up franchises for expansion.

Actually it is mate. There are currently 3 or 4 clubs that would be dead if it wasn't for handouts directly from the AFL to keep them alive. No NRL club is doing that badly.

That's why they were so desperate to relocate a team to the GC and why it was hilarious when it failed so badly. There have also been a few failed merger attempts in the last decade or so too.

Absolute scum. There's no other way to describe them. They want the government to build them pokie farms, stadiums and whatever the f**k else. I just want to know what they actually contribute to society.

Agree with everything Loudstrat has said. Might be because he's actually provided some facts proving his point. As opposed to the usual "too many teams in Sydney." followed by no argument whatsoever. AFL is only a national game because it spent the last 2 decades telling everyone it is.
