Firefly - Serenity

I saw Serenity (the Movie) a year ago, and i thought it was pretty good.
A mate lent me the Firefly (the TV show) DVDs on the weekend and I watched the first ep yesterday - its frickin awesome!

Best way to do it I reckon is have a marathon and then watch Serenity again. Great show that despite having a huge following, generally slipped under the radar. It's fantastic imo.

Really enjoyed the series and it p*sses me off that it was cancelled because the show could have done anything as it had a bit of everything in it, great show.

I'd put the series well ahead of the movie too.

It was a great show, and had a real cult following, but a very small following, which is why it was axed after 13 episodes.

I have both the series and the movie at home. My girlfriend put me onto the series at first. We borrowed it from the video shop. Then I saw it at JB Hi Fi and bought her a copy . Won some merit points and I get to watch it whenever I want. LMAO.....

Channel 7 at 11:30pm (at least in Brisbane) - most cities show the same programs, but some differ especially late night. The main difference now is the 8:30pm Wed and 9:30pm Thurs slots.

There is only about a dozen or so episodes all up mate. They cut the series in the US after season one. Star Trek was prob killing them in the ratings. But I actually liked the show better than Star Trek. Had action, comedy, romance, adventure. Was all good !!!

Unfortunately it didn't even make a full season.

Lke with all shows, they order 13 episodes first up. Then if it rates they order the rest of the first season(so 9-11 more).

Did you know that they wanted to CUT Mash after the first season. Apparently the presidents wife liked the show and put in a good word for it. ( Apparently a TRUE story ).

Yeah that's true. I don't think it was just the network president, but the president of the networks parent company.

Then it was a great success in the second series.

Like a lot of shows - Firefly was one; it was given a crap timeslot.
