I havent followed Brad Drew all that closely but I though he left Penrith because he couldnt get a Hooker spot with Gowie having it all sewn up at the time. He became something special in Parra alternating in the hooker spot and then was signed by Canberra the next season, was he not? He didnt go too badly at all at the time and wasnt good ole Drew the cause of a few wins against Penrith?? Things happen, maybe an injury got the better of him?

yea drew was good for us and for para though his form dropped majorly down as a raider though he did still have a few moments of brilliance.

So i fail to see what skeepe's point was lol but hey.

Well aware of that!

Actually, I don't think Elliott got the credit he deserved in his time there. Obviously some Raiders supporters think he's rubbish... but he's our rubbish now! :D

There's only one way Elliott can prove himself and I for one am looking forward to it. :D

Firman to start in Premier League with Wallace at five-eight for FG and Trindall at half in Premier. Brendon Worth to make his debut for Panthers in Round 1, dont be surprised to see him starting either.

peter wallace, jarrod sammut? f**kin penrith, love the has beens rather than the local talent, give a young fella a shot at 5/8

Sammut is a turn-stile. Great with the ball no doubt, but Newcastle targeted him all day in the GF with success.

Sorry forgot I had posted that hence why I hadn't backed up my initial point.

Someone said that Elliott wouldn't sign Firman if he was any good. I merely pointed out Brad Drew as being evidence contrary to that opinion.

According to PI he is training with the team currently. He will play both trials and we'll see how he goes. If successful he'll get a one year contract.

Yeh, I train next to Penrith (Howell) and I saw him training with the team, didn't know why but now I do, not a bad move by Penrith!

Firman may have to get past peter wallace first.Wallace has a better all round game .

If that was the case you would have to wonder why firman has played more first grade then!!!!!!!!

But in all reality if firman is signed he will start in first grade if that wasnt elliot's intentions well i'd have to ask why bother signing him then if your going to stick with rookies.

Know doubt somebody would say firman would be hired as a fall back in case the rookies cant handle it.

But i ask whats the point in that if the rookies cant handle it and we lose games, well were stuck as no matter how good firman is this season is going to be real tough any game you lose will come back to haunt you.

Wallace had two guys who you may have heard of in front of him.

Preston Campbell & Craig Gower. Such terrible players who a 19 year old rookie should immediately have displaced. Firman had Willie Peters to get ahead of. Firman couldn't make the Roosters side ahead of Wing/Finch and was dumped to the bench in favour of Justin Smith at the Cowboys.

He also turned in a match losing performance coming off the bench in the 05 grand final.

Wallace has only had one opportunity at first grade and played very well. He has a great long kicking game and has pin point right to left passing (decent left to right aswell.)

He would have had a chance this year except he did his knee in the week Gower injured himself. Or would you expect him to play in a full knee brace?

Wallace turned 21 this year and should have first shot to prove himself.

I agree Munky, Wallace should be the first to get a chance. If it wasn't for his season ending injury, he would have played I say at least 5 matches this year, and may have already stitched it up. We probably will alternate between him and Firman in the trials.

But I think unless he has an absolute shocker in the trials, Firman will be a Panther in 2007.
