Hey all

I was born and bred in Brisbane, however have supported Manly since I was a child. I'm 24 now, and due to lack of funds, for only the first time am heading down to Brookie to watch a home game this weekend. Very happy to be there for Brett's return!

A few questions for some of you locals:

  • Given that a big crowd is due this weekend, how early do you need to rock up to get a good spot on the hill?
  • Does anything exciting go down anywhere in particular after the game?
  • Anywhere in particular that is better to stand for viewing at the ground?
Anyway, hope to have a great atmosphere for Snake's return, and look forward to posting on here more often!

Thanks guys

Welcome!

Get there early, take it all in, cheer on the U/20's and you can make your own mind up on where you think is a good place to park for the afternoon.

After the game there's a function at the Leagues club.

A virgin! About time the cherry was popped.

Always rock up early, Brookvale crowds are known to show up ten minutes before kickoff. As ZJ said, the U/20's is always entertaining, plus it gives you time to punish a few cans and reserve a decent spot.

Regarding said spot, my favourite is on the hill, anywhere near the bar shed (or 50m line for those not focused with beer). It's cheap, traditional and the proper way to watch Rugby League. If you sit towards the back though, be prepared to stand during the match - which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Thanks guys. Staying in the CBD so hopefully will find my way there early on Sunday and get on it. Is it decent at the Leagues club after the game?

What do you reckon the odds are of a sell-out?

Unlikely I know, but I'm driving up from the Riverina and I'm not a big fan of pre-ordering tickets, then waiting for half an hour at the booth while they find them for you.

Any guesses?

Probably not a sell out.

You can pre purchase tickets online from Ticketmaster and then print them at home to bring with you, saves lining up at Brookie.

It's pretty good, I've met heaps of players at these things, if it's not your thing it's early enough to head off somewhere else.

Thanks for all your help. Can't wait, should be a great day, and hopefully a hat trick to snake and a victory.

This. Anyone who does anything different is a fool.

Are you going by public transport Ben? It's been a while since I bussed it from the CBD to Brookie, but from memory buses leave Wynyard station quite regularly. Much better and cheaper than the ferry then a bus imo.

Had an amazing weekend down there, only got back late last night. Ended up catching the ferry across to Manly, and bus from there. Great game, and met a few of the boys at the Leagues club afterwards too. Cheers for all your help :)
