FIVE things we learnt from the 1st Half of CS

Haha you are all a bunch of Muppets, go back and have a look at your team for round 1, you all left Aitken out and were kissing Lafai's ass, Mann was always going to play fullback, Dugan was going to be moved to centre and Aitken is a local junior and star in the making, had an awesome season last year, yet you all forget about him, we never needed Lafai, yet our dumb *HIT club went and overpaid for him when they could have kept the money, pissed barge ass off at the end of the year, and then had plenty of cash to buy a quality half, we played a reserve grade souths side at best tonight, barge ass, lafai and rein should have calved up tonight and they failed miserably, none of these 3 should be picked for round 1.
STRAIGHT SHOOTER.

Question...have you seen Aitken when he played on the Left? He wasn't as effective as he was on the Right. Do you then play Dugan Left???

Righting Lafai off after 1 game is silly...Thompson and Widdop were not there and Fai Fai Loa was average. Lafai is a genuine left sided player. Is he an automatic starter??? No..needs to earn his spot like anyone else. Personally I'd play Aitken right wing and Shift Nightingale to left if we start with dugan and Lafai in the centres.

It's one trial game people...RELAX.

Not sure you are understanding the original post.

I think his thread was about what everybody else was saying and the non inclusion of Aitken and I agree with his summation.

We should pick Aitken right centre and then work the rest around him because on performance he deserves his spot.

If Dugan can't play left centre then probably try Mann and leave Dugan FB.

The essence is that lots talked Lafai up and picked him automatically for round 1 and in the 9's and the CS he showed less than nothing and people are making apologies for him.

Why roll over somebody who is giving top effort and performance and improving for someone who went backwards at his old club and was shown the door for Hopoate?

If we the fans buy the merchandise, pay to go to the game (not cheap for a family) we deserve something and last night the team didn't provide very much at all and some on this forum think we have no rights to question the management over their decisions well we have every right to do that especially when lack of performance creates the environment.

By the way I have seen Lafai play left and what I saw was dismal and Aitken even at left would be better.

Hutchison is DEFINITELY not ready for FG & I'm not sure he will ever be . Where's Vas now Benji had total control of last nights game & failed dismally showed no leadership or direction/control when it mattered. Benji IS NOT our long term fix at halfback & I'll be glad to see the back of him at the end of the season. Euan Aitken MUST BE IN OUR STARTING 13 . Let Lafai find his feet with the cutters in the meantime. Some positives I thought were definitely Kurt Mann , Packer , Milne & with his limited time Havilli . Even though I'm disappointed with the result the conditions were not ideal & I know both teams had that problem our timing was out & there seemed to be no continuity in anything we did .

I guess we are all entitled to our opinions. Did you see Lafai play in 2014 ???
Would hardly call it dismal. My point was that virtually our entire left hand starting players were out. Hutch gave little early ball to Lafai.I wouldn't right Lafai off on 1 trial game and the 7's. Aitken has been very good and so far can't see him being left out. I think Mann deserves an opportunity at 1 as he offers different qualities to Dugan and Mann is essentially a 1,6 or 7.

At the end of the day, at least we have options. The only position which I.M.H.O hasn't got an obvious starter is the left wing spot. Fai Fai Loa did little last night and contributed to the poor reads in defense.

Not sure we actually have that many options as it appears we have a left / right hang up which ultimately has its own limitations.

Everyone says did you see Lafai in 2014 how about you ask yourself did he do enough to get a start in round 1 because you would think he would have busted his gut being back in his preferred position. He doesn't read defence well and doesn't chase opposition players who have made a break "he looks and acts very lazy".

I'm here. Not really anything original to say so I didn't bother. Sorry.

Did Benji fail miserably? I didn't realize that. I thought he could have taken the line on a little more but it was a trial game.

I would have thought most of you homies would be magnanimous enough to concede what I have been saying about Lafai ever since he was signed is correct. He is a depth signing who won't be in the team at the expense of Aitken. Furthermore, the jury is still out on Mann but as a centre, as with Lafai. JDB is going to be the starting lock.

Based on that game the only thing I was wrong about was Havili. I thought he was a depth signing but based on that game, I think he will be in the starting 17. I still think the Tigers have at least one hooker too many. Mitch Rein is a good player except for the fact his passing out of dummy half is so bad and seemingly not getting any better.

Poor sook. It was a reasonable question.

Why so angry?

Well FFS, can't you put it together?

1. Based on that game Havili will be in the 17.

2. Rein is a good player but his passing from dummy half is still terrible and not getting better.

3. The Tigers have at least one hooker too many.

Now, what do you think I'm suggesting?

I actually agree with you FFS. I am just asking why reference the Tigers? Was something said about them by another poster?

If you are saying get one of theirs and piss Rein off, then fine but which one? Robbie?

I am actually not trying to piss you off, but still seem to manage it

Lets judge Lafai when we have Widdop and Thompson on the left side.
I'm certainly not going to call him a dud after 1 trial game and the 7's ?

Fai Fai Loa added to the confusion in defense which is probably to be expected when the entire left side are playing together for the first time.
