I think you will find he had a meeting with an interstate coach last year and has no chance with the Warriors due to "other reasons". And he has been currently playing a makeshift halves role with Brown slotting into hooker. Both of them onfield at the same time is quite deadly for any opposition, with both being able to steal an easy 10M on a rotating basis during a set of 6. As a halfback he simply does not have a long kicking game which he has not even worked on but his short kicking has been much improved over this season. As you can see from this season even Marshall's long range kicking game had been pretty poor when first given the halfback role, but is slowly learning from his mistakes and learning to split back 3's and not put them out on the full.
Yes your comment is correct with saying about DeGois and Chase rise to 1st grade, but that is common knowledge as it's something that is blatent in why he wasn't released being earmarked the most suitable retention by the club. So is the common knowledge of saying he would prefer to play at the hooking role as opposed to a halves role, but i think you will find he wont knock back a shot in the 6 or 7. But this could also be a situation which could make him not perform at his peak of what we have all seen being played out of his natural position as has happened with so many of the WT players. There is ANOTHER factor in play within the next 6-12 months which is out of his hands.
And just for the record guys, while we discuss players out of position, Fitzhenry himself has ALWAYS preferred to play at CENTRE but Sheens is the one who constantly shoved him on the wing, 5/8th and makeshift fullback, and pretty much ALL of his games at centre have been decent if not better defensively and in attack. So as you can see a player who plays out of position will never truly deliver the goods to their best capacity onfield.
