Flanno's New Signings

It may all look like a sh** show on first glance, but as frustrating as it is that we are struggling to lock down signatures and fill our voids, it's clear that Flanno isn't going to be taken for a fool.

Didn't Bevan French just re-sign with Wigan until 2028 or thereabouts? Why on earth would this even be a consideration for us, other than a greedy manager trying to extract an "offer to return to Australia that couldn't be refused" along with some compensation on our part - as that's the only way Wigan are going to let him go.

We could do worse than Atkinson and Ilias. Lam is a great potential option. Doueihi could be a good stop/gap if we need to wait until 2026 for more options to come up.

I agree with the club taking it's time to do a full due diligence on Gutherson before everything is made final.
100%. Agents trying squeeze us in the media. Give him only two years, Flanno. Let him try to get three years elsewhere.

Could possibly be a problem with his body- knees ? If so then we would be better off not signing the man .

As much as we desire his talents it may be a case of him missing too many games for the amount that he is asking.

Although we will be disappointed - should this be the case , a fully fit player is what the Dragons need .

How will Flanno use Cook ?

Surprise new role floated for Damien Cook at the Dragons

The head coach stated that there was a significant possibility of utilising both men at the same time, with Cook being used as a link player at lock.

Tom Eisenhuth, who remains unsigned for 2025, started in the No.13 jersey for the majority of the season as he averaged 56 minutes per game through the middle.

"They could be (on the field) at the same time at different stages," Flanagan said.

"Cookie could be that ball distributor, while Jacob gets out at dummy-half."

I see this as a very attractive strategy for Atkinson if he comes here to play 5/8. He is a good, quick runner and a sharp mover and would carve it up with those two on the field with him.
