Just sat through the entire Flano interview on YouTube
We are in very good hands.
Keeping a level head in the mist of optimism is a very good thing.
Flann’s focus is second to none and using the example of Liddle/ Cook his long term plans are well crafted.
Of course mid-term injuries will come into play but everyone is in the same boat eg Penrith- comp winners.
One thing - there WON’T be ani ‘I’ in our team as per last year.
My optimism is next level for next year
Cheers Flano.
Thanks for your continuing efforts.

My thoughts at the beginning of the year, if St George were going to make the semi's, Flanno deserved a 3 year extension, my thoughts having missed the semi's hasn't changed, we had no pulse last year, thanks to BUNT, I can't see anyone else other than Flanno taking St George to the next level and some, extending his contract will secure rising stars and the signing of quality players.

Agree totally. I think 3 years is too short a time frame to fix the mess that Flano inherited. Give him 5 years to sort out the whole club from under 12s to FG! And if he gets that sorted, extend him again!

Liking what Flanno is saying too. The only criticism is his delay at giving us a half as we do not want a rudderless back line even after the sook has gone.

I vote Gutho as our next skipper. He is saying all the correct things we want to hear from a leader, even wanting to recruit Terrel May. Above all I like the way he is prepared to take Tyrell Sloan under his wing.
"Fullback is a hard position to learn and takes time. Tyrell is a talented player and I look forward to working with him with all facets of his game".

Isn't it funny how you couldn't stand a bloke at another club, with all his suction cup marks on him, but you now can't wait to see him pull on the red v.
The difference from going to a club for the money, compared to going to a club & wanting to repay them for believing in you.

Agree, most can't stand NAS and JWH but in another life if we signed both we would be doing cartwheels.

Flanno knows he could play Gutho at 6 at a pinch if required
There are still 2 important backline signings to come yet.. and I thought I had a good feel for who they would be (both flexible players), but every recruit will needs releases... so I dont want to get my hopes up..

But once you get those 2 + guys like val, cook, gutho added into kyle, allan, feagai even.. all of them can play a few positions.. so hopefully we dont have a repeat of 2024 where any injuries really forced us to play blokes we didnt want to play.. for example Ravalawa against Parra, he wasnt the only one, but on his own basically lost us the game with his errors early.. rava was not performing in NSW Cup either.. but we were desperate.

We also had to play Lawrie for large chunks of the year (ok yes Ryan could have played more), but again like hopefully that doesnt happen in 2025, i.e. we can select from a position of strength not desperation.. but we do need 1 quality middle yet.. and I also wish Lawrie all the best this season, he's looking fit, I hope he surprises us, but it would be a very welcome surprise given hes signed for 2yrs still.

Anything less is and he will not be able complete the task which he started .

The man knows exactly what is required , he merely needs the time to recruit the quality players that he needs come 1st November each season and the Big Red V will have a top 4 team .

From there the Dragons will be a highly competitive team that may at some stage find themselves in a Grand Final - but only with Flanagan at the helm .

Agree if not we will start all over again and more than likely with D. Young at the helm ..........
