The problem is $150,000 per season more headline is only $75,000 in his pocket. Yes, that’s a lot of money however compared to playing with mates and less driving I’d say it’s not enough, so you offer say $300,000 a season more and if it doesn’t work out we all complain he was paid to much. It’s not easy.
Exactly. Lot of variables. You’d have to be paying way overs and when you take him too far from home he might agitate in the future. He was always going to play with his mates under Benji

Maybe the plan of attack is to go for Doueihi to play as 5/8 for next year. Then in 26 he can replace Eisenheuth. In the meantime we just rotate some of the young forwards coming through in preparation for 26. Who knows.
This is a workable idea. De Belin is also not far from his last contract. And Douehi is a big, mobile lad. Meantime, we can keep shopping for halves.

That's the problem, we don't know and never will know the in's and out's of recruiting. In this case it could have been a number of issues from both sides , but to put the blame of not getting him totally on Flanno is ludicrous.
Agree. There's no 'blame'. The Head Coach should be the person who decides which players are recruited. Flanno didn't table an offer. It's not a failure to not make an offer to someone and nor is it a failure to not increase an offer above what you think they're worth. Flanno appears to be incredibly rational to me and he must have nerves of steel. He'd be a great real estate buyers agent!
IMO our recruitment is looking very sensible and considered - with all grades in mind - after decades of dumb stuff.

Agree Mojo,

Using Lomax's money for Val and using Hunts money for Clint. Both upgrades at fullback and centre, both can play several positions and Val can kick.

Cap not out of shape.

Hopefully, Sele is fit for the start of next year and over his injuries, the twins resigned and a mentor for Sloan.

May was opportunistic. Still trust Flanno's judgement on players values and he was very keen on Val, Clint and Cook.
