You were after Wishart, Douiehi or Atkinson but might have to settle for Ilias.

Look age is on his side his defence is pretty good, he’s a solid build short kicking game has shown signs he has one, he has a good attitude. Issues are he looks to slow with the ball etc lacks creativity, long kicking game not too good and has plenty of errors in him. I’m not fully convinced he’s a 7 but there is a player there. Souths don’t have the time to keep waiting on him and I believe Wayne didn’t want him but he’s not a fully lost cause put it that way. But he needs lots of work if he’s gonna be a long term 7. I do think JD wasn’t a good coach for him too. I wish him all the best if he does leave Souths.

Well, beggars can't be choosers so I suppose we thank you for him. A rugby league team should have 13 players after all and we seem to be having trouble getting any we want.

I don't expect a lot from him but I am glad to know he can defend. My guess is Flanno is going to use him as a place card at 5/8 until he can find better (someone with speed and kicking) or even just as back up/competition for our current young NSW Cup 5/8.

Given Kyle was playing more as a halfback early in the sets of six and then moved across to link with Hunt I can see that Ilias could fit on one side of the field

also given Gutho seems to be heavily involved in the left side in attack I wonder if Kyle is being seriously considered for our right side as a half ? Kyle has a very strong left to right passing game and is a right footer

So Flanno says in regards to getting a playmaker and prop that “we’re not in a rush — if it’s another week or two, so be it.” Therefore can we expect some notification via the website on names of these players in a week or so? It would be good to settle on these two positions to get the squad fully into pre-season training. I think Holmes is due to start his pre-season next week as his leg should be all ok now.

Massive risk hoping someone would swap you for him. You’d have to go into preseason training with him. Plus no one would likely swap anyone with the salary he was on

Not as easy as you think.
For starters the player being swapped would need to be ok with it.
