Flawed 4 Nations Draw

Has anyone noticed how flawed the 4 Nations draw is? It has the words 'DEAD RUBBER' written all over it. Was this a trade off because of the Eden Park double header.

Plus stadium selection for the comp is very poor (apart from Eden Park). Would love to have a crack at your job Mr Love.

Can't believe there's a test match at Parramatta Stadium. Deadset joke. Should have gone to Canberra Stadium like first rumoured.

Funny.

Anyway. Just pointing out that Canberra remains the only city with an NRL team to have never, ever hosted an Australia match. Even Parkes has FFS!

The only way to ensure no dead rubber is to have NZ play England in the last game. That is almost certainly going to decide the second finalist. But then you never know these days. Chances are either Australia or NZ may still have to win that last game. Not likely but possible. And I think the venues are okay too. They couldn't really not have a game in Sydney and against PNG it's a fair choice to play at Parra. Would there be a bigger crowd at Canberra? I doubt it.

The 3rd nation in the RL world (England) is playing a curtain raiser in the top tournament of the year..

That is a flaw of monumental proportions..

No your mindset is flawed, it's not a curtain raiser its a double header!!! When I heard that Tonga and Samoa were playing b4 PNG and Aus I was over the moon people WILL get there b4 the second game trust me!

Wont be any dead rubbers if England win their first 2 games.

I actually like the draw, it has the potential to have one hell of a crowd at Eden Park filled with plenty of Kiwis, a good splattering of Aussies, hopefully the English contingent and hopefully a few PNG jerseys in the crowd.

Yeh of course you're right..

Let's call it something else and make it rosier..

postive thinking..

Even if it is a CURTAIN RAISER..

Only Rugby League (unfortunately..)

Well it hasn't been touted as an official "Curtain Raiser" so make of it what you will. I've decided its an awesome double header of international league! The glass is half full! :)

Yes, Canberra and Newcastle should probably host a test match at some point. But this year its Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Which of those cities should sacrifice a test match in favour of Canberra or Newcastle or Townsville, etc etc.

Perhaps the powers that be in Canberra could lobby the ARL to host a Kangaroos test match there. Perhaps put up some coin to host a match?

when though?

not this year obviously...next year is'nt the anzac test being played in NZ?? then its off to england for the 4nations...in 2012 australia are'nt playing any tests other than the anzac and they are'nt going to take the anzac test anywhere other than melbourne,sydney,brisbane...2013 its back up here for the world cup...so your looking at 2014 and the 4nations down under before the likes of canberra, newcastle, townsville get a look in at hosting any tests

Exactly my point, if Canberra want a match, they need to put their money where their mouth is and they need to do it years ahead of time.

They have tried.

Sydney should miss out.. it's at Parramatta Stadium for f**ks sake!

Canberra Stadium is a venue far more becoming of an international match than a poxy little bogan ground.

Tried? Tell your soulless city to pull its finger out and put a significant bid in for a Kangaroos match.
