Flu Shot

It works for sure. Not a 100% guarantee because some people will not seroconvert but a small jab in the arm is way better then getting influenza.

Common belief is that the flu shot protects you against getting a cold. It does not. The Fluvax protects against the northern hemisphere Influenza Type A and B as well as H1N1 and maybe some southern hemisphere strains. (although i am not sure about the 2011 batch)

Influenza is about 5 times worse than your common cold.

I get it every year free at work, and i have to say i really do get fewer colds.

I know there is no scientific reason for that, but i haven't had a serious cold in all the years i've been getting flu shots, and i used to get them all the time in winter.

Each to their own..... I was able to get it free at my old job and had it once. Was off work sick for a week afterwards....

My doctor says you can still get the flu of some sort, the flu shot is against the worst kind at the time. I've had the flu shot every year since highschool but have still had the flu the last couple of years.

I wish my work gave me a free flu shot. Running a Bottle Shop in a grubby part of Palm Beach no-one gives a sh*t about personal hygiene and never covers up when coughing / sneezing etc. While I don't get sick too often, when I do it's bad. And since moving up here I've been getting crook more often.

if your a fit and healthy adult with a good diet and strong immune system, you don't need a flu shot. Your body will handle the virus.

Then we had a kid. The little f**ker constantly brings home sniffles from day care...and we get them too.

The hangovers I get these days are atrocious! Alcohol reps give me free stock to try. Some of it is great. Most of it is half a step away from paint thinner!

I found I had better immunity when I was at University. Everyone is crook around you so you build up a tolerance really quick.
