The Broncos are undefeated at 6-0 and have the bye before playing Green Bay at home in week 8. Huge game for both sides for bragging rights but more importantly, it will tell us where the Broncos sit as far as being contenders.

The AFC looks considerably stronger than the NFC this year IMO with only the Packers looking like the real deal whereas the Patriots and Bengals both look very strong.

The Broncos have obvious struggles on O and the bye week may be a chance to get it right for a very tough stretch where I think the Broncos will go 5-5 the rest of the way.

Having said that, the Broncos were 6-0 in 2009 under McDaniels and finished the season at 8-8 and missed the playoffs. Could that happen again this year? The Patriots look the obvious favourite with the Bengals and Steelers looking ominous as well. Even the Jets look promising.

Time will tell I guess.

The bills are very good at taking away your number 1 receiver, however I don't think they can deal with teams with multiple weapons

Good teams just don't need to go to there number 1 against the bills. Dalton had zero pressure on him. That's not a good sign for the bills. Not to mention how many penalties the bills give up

if manning can stop the interceptions they could win it all because they are awesome on defense.

but...id say Pats and packers are the clear class.

They have to get something going on offense, D was out there way too long yesterday & was wearing down as the game went on & injuries started to pile up, the offense has to give them time to rest up. Also there will be games where the defence is not going to be able save the offence's ass with a huge play/turnover at the end of every game.

Hillman got the running game going a little yesterday but that was against one of the worst run defences in the league, we will see if the can back it up against stronger teams coming up. Anderson has been terrible so far, Hillman has had small flashes of getting the ground game going but they are never consistent.

Manning was beyond awful yesterday when he wasn't throwing it to the other team most of the time it was well off target to the receivers, the o-line held up well for the most part so it wasn't like he was under constant pressure when he was trying to throw, no excuse for his performances.

Demaryius needs to wake the hell up since he got the new deal he's had so many bad plays & drops.

It's time to bench Daniels he is well past it, have got zero production from the TE position, Green has to see more action in the passing game not just blocking, Owen just doesn't cut it atm.

Broncos don't stand a chance in this tough stretch coming up unless the offense finally gets it together they don't even need to be great like they were just competent, McManus & the D cant do it all for the whole season. They are basically half a team so far this season all defence & McManus, Offence has contributed next to nothing to the wins, it's really been pathetic on that side of the ball.

Green got a big contract based off being a great blocking TE and this year the coaches aren't happy with his blocking. They have brought in a guy Richard Gordon to try and offer more as a blocking TE. They have been keeping the TE's in more on pass blocking to help the OT's which has seen them getting less targets but it is pretty clear Manning only trusts DT and Sanders anyway. Manning's struggles go all the way back to losing control of the offense after the Rams game last year. Hopefully he can get it going again with less weapons than he is used to or it will be a poor end to a HOF career. I'd argue overall he was pretty good yesterday aside from the INT's. Clearly his arm is fine as he made some of the toughest throws in football. His mind isn't right.
Anyway, shouldn't this be in the Broncos thread?

Green has made plays when they have thrown him the ball in limited opportunities, Green got resigned because he is a versatile player, a great blocker who has big potential as a receiver. His contract wasn't big either, 2.5 million a year for 3 years is an excellent deal especially considering the interest he had from a number of teams in FA.

They had him just blocking last few years because Julius couldn't block at all, he is a tremendous athlete just as good as Julius if not better and an underrated receiver who just needs more opportunities which he will probably get if Daniels keeps playing as poorly as he has.

Though I agree with you that he has been down on form so far this season with his blocking and needs to step it up, however Gordon is not a threat to Daniels or Green at all.

It could go in the broncos thread but it fits here as well.

If Ben didn't get injured then the steelers would be 5-1. Their defense has been guilty of giving up long yards consistently, but they also come up with big plays when needed

I suppose with manning playing the way he is. Is how many losses in a row could they take before they decided to go another direction?

Forget Ben, just some rational play calling or a capable kicker gets that Ravens win.

How old is manning? 40?

Hes f**ked. dead set.

So.
I think the broncos should trade for Phil Rivers. he's the best QB on a shit team thay could be traded cos of this LA thing, even though he had the extension.

you trade rivers, and everyone else, and dump people and have picks and rebuild in LA.

meanwhile in Denver you have a crazy old QB with 16 kids and enough in th tank for 2-3 good years with that Defence

or they move up in the draft next year and draft a QB.

thoughts?

True, although with Ben there it wouldn't have even been close. I hate looking at the scoreboard and seeing the Ravens 1-5 record, and knowing that by all rights they should be 0-6.

I do love the fact they are 1-5 though.

The Broncos will probably trade for a QB rather than draft one. Osweiler doesn't seem to be the future but the question is who would they trade for? I like Rivers but he might be too old for the Broncos now. Stafford would be my pick but the Lions are well and truly hitched to his contract wagon.

All the good QB's are tied to long term deals and the Broncos need to re-sign Von Miller this off season and he is going to want JJ Watt money.

I think if the Broncos could land Philip Rivers for the next couple of seasons they should. Philip Rivers has to be one the best QB's to have never played a SB. He's still a good QB I think.

I get why Manning came back, he must look at that defence and think these guys can carry him to one more SB. Which they just might if he would just quit handing out free points to the opposition.
I guess Elway brought him back thinking if he could just get a half decent season out him they'd have a good shot.

Think Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson. Game managers with a great D. There is still a good chance Manning comes back after the bye looking better than he did before the break.

I remember reading Rivers had a no trade clause put in his recent contract. Charger for life.

Osweiler will get his shot if/when Manning is gone next year without a doubt.
