the following statement from Jets chairman Barry Vining for the benefit of all members and fans.

A Statement from the Board of the Newtown Rugby League Football Club.

The Board of the Newtown RLFC has been working feverishly over recent years
to shore up the club's financial situation. Many people would say that it is
in the Board-Room and on the financial front that the real game of Rugby
League is played.

The major projects undertaken in recent times have been:

1. The Jets Sports Club continues to show good results, with May 2007 being
the most financially successful month in the club's history. The club itself
continues to be spruced up internally, the bistro is renowned for its great
value, quality cuisine and through good management the club's financial
position steadily improves.

2. Some years ago we bought the Parkes Leagues Club which was in financial
receivership. There have since been a number of well-received physical
restructures of the club as well as an internal staff reorganisation. At
present two former Newtown players in Paul Danes and Scott Fleming are
completing the new smoking areas as required by NSW Government legislation.
It is pleasing that central-western NSW has received much-needed rain which
will be a great boost to the regional economy and of course to the Parkes
Leagues Club. In the next 5 years Parkes will become a major transport hub
for road and rail freight interchange, further boosted by the
Melbourne-Brisbane inland rail freight proposal as supported by the
Australian Government. There are also several mining projects about to
commence in the region which will all pump tens of millions of dollars into
the Parkes town economy. Our investment in the Parkes Leagues Club looks
very bright indeed.

3. The large-scale redevelopment of the Camden Valley Golf Resort (the
former NSW Rugby League Country Club) is progressing positively and the club
expects to receive our first large financial return by the end of 2007. It
is increasingly apparent that the Newtown RLFC Board made a wise decision in
electing to retain Newtown's membership in this consortium.

4. The dressing-rooms at Henson Park were completely renovated at the
beginning of the 2005 season (at a cost of some $750,000), due in no small
part to the excellent working relation this club has developed with
Marrickville Council. Further to this, the club was successful in obtaining
a commitment from the popular State MP for Marrickville, Carmel Tebbutt, for
the Iemma Labor Government to make a $250,000 grant towards the resurfacing
of Henson Park. This grant will be paid to Marrickville Council and together
with further funding from the Council, there will be a complete resurfacing,
installation of new irrigation infrastructure plus a modern storm water
retention system with the intention of drought-proofing Henson Park. This
major program is to be undertaken at the completion of this football season.

5. The Newtown RLFC has a 5-year agreement with the Sydney Roosters RLFC,
plus an option for a further 5 years. We are currently in the second year of
the first phase of this Rugby League joint-venture agreement.

6. On top of all this, Newtown's results in recent years on the Rugby League
front have been more than creditable. The Board's ongoing aim is for the
Newtown Rugby League Football Club to participate in the highest level of
competition for which it is both financially and logistically possible for
Newtown to play in. In Newtown's case, that is the flagship competition of
the NSW Rugby League, currently the VB Premier League.

## a completely different board, the board of the sports club is also made up from old members of the bowling club, anyway is there any relevance with the goings on in the football club?

2. Some years ago we bought the Parke's Leagues Club which was in financial
receivership. There have since been a number of well-received physical
restructures of the club as well as an internal staff reorganisation. At
present two former Newtown players in Paul Danes and Scott Fleming are

very bright indeed.

## so you want to lay claim to bringing rain to parkes!! two former players getting paid to do renovations. is this a job for the boys? if you have so much concern for parks economy why wouldn't you get a local tradesman to do the job?

3. The large-scale redevelopment of the Camden Valley Golf Resort (the
former NSW Rugby League Country Club) is progressing positively and the club
expects to receive our first large financial return by the end of 2007. It
is increasingly apparent that the Newtown RLFC Board made a wise decision in

## the current board had no say in the purchase of the golf club, yet you still wishing to pass on to us members that this is our Saviour. granted they have made a wise decision in keeping the clubs share.

4. The dressing-rooms at Henson Park were completely renovated at the
beginning of the 2005 season (at a cost of some $750,000), due in no small
part to the excellent working relation this club has developed with

installation of new irrigation infrastructure plus a modern storm water
retention system with the intention of drought-proofing Henson Park. This
major program is to be undertaken at the completion of this football season.

## the dressing sheds needed to be restored, due to OH&S concerns and public liability. $250,000 for the resurfacing will not cover 1/2 the field let alone a water storage facility, but credit is to be passed on to the gentleman who secured this grant

5. The Newtown RLFC has a 5-year agreement with the Sydney Roosters RLFC,
plus an option for a further 5 years. We are currently in the second year of
the first phase of this Rugby League joint-venture agreement.

## the roosters entered this agreement purely as a cost cutting business decision, what has newtown in all honesty got to offer? no juniors (yet) Newtown are the major benefactors in this joint venture.

6. On top of all this, Newtown's results in recent years on the Rugby League
front have been more than creditable. The Board's ongoing aim is for the

competition for which it is both financially and logistically possible for

## this is what we all want, honestly we support the roosters in disguise, who has Newtown supplied to the playing roster?

Barry, please stop grasping at straws, your dedication to Newtown is not at question here, what is is the fact issues arise, as in any business that need to be actioned for the betterment of OUR club,
I urge you and your fellow board members to act in a professional manner and make the hard decisions. remove the damaging aspects from within that is clearly noticed, the evidence has been been posted on this forum this last week.

Fair refutation Mr Smith, if you want to hold someone to task dont hide under your pseudonym and sh*t all over the club in an obvious attempt to slander the club under the pathetic guise of anonmity on this forum. Make your point to the board or sign your allegations with your real name here.

die hard, I am very much like you, I read and contribute to this forum under as you say a "pseudonym".

there are a lot of people who have been unfairly treated by various members associated with the club, rest assured that certain ramifications are in line.

if you so wish, please publish your real identity and add some credentials to your post, other wise, post as normal under your alias.

Well it is obvious that I post under an alias, my point is that you clearly signed up with a political agenda. I talk sh*t about a football team no need for any creedance to be given to my posts. Anyway you say ramifications are in place, so the problem has been dealt with?

Look like the board are a bit paranoid by what goes on in this forum. This does not address any of the issues bought up here!! its jut a well written bullsh*t you can come to expect from the club. Never addressing the issues at hand but always ready to pat themselves on the back at every opportunity!!!!

i know for a fact that a certain Bumper reads this forum.

I'm not gonna say which one.

I also know there are people out there who are reading this and are so stupid that they thought the BTJ merchandise was real and rang the club to complain!

I think folks that what we have here is a case of an old school football club, used to playing in comps like the Metro cup and JBC. AS they have grown they are at the point where they have to deal with the real business world, a world which when it comes to Rugby League is a very vicious and sycophantic one.

All the people who have done the hard work are soon forgotten when the people signing cheques turn up.

Did they complain cause they actually believed they were on sale, or complained because they thought they were and still couldn't get any.    ;-)

A few achievements they neglected to post on their list of only 6 in more than 15 years.

The Junior Jets started by a current low profile director who helped build a relationship with Souths juniors along with othe volunteers and the former staff member. This relationship earned the juniors the clock from Refern and now at Henson worth between 10-15k plus the FREE installation by junior club staff worth 1k and yet no recognition by the club. I guess you could say with no juniors there would be no Brendo ( I must admit I have notseen you play but your posts are gold).

Finally getting a board member who cares about the accounts given the catch up of AGM's and financial statements which were neglected by the board prior to this. Why is this so Barry, who pays the ASIC fines the board or the club, it should not be the club.

Why work so hard to get the ownership of the Jets logo only to give it away again?

Did you not learn anything about giving it away with no cash up front.

Why did the club not inform members of the jersey fiasco. Yes the league erred by letting a new club enter with the same colours my my emails along with others to the league learned that the Jets media officer was told weeks in advance and yet no alternative was done and why not all directors or staff were told. When did you inform all sponsors given the game was televised on NZ TV our sponsors were not given any exposure.

This was PATHETIC, UNPROFESSIONAL and UNACCEPTABLE.

Why treat fans with the contempt and heads should roll and perhaps it is time the board stood down or those who feel it is a private club rather than a club for members.

And with no Brendo this forum would be another thing you could add to the original list of things that have died at the Newtown Jets.

Brendo, you mean to say that I won't be getting my BTJ gear even though it's all paid for?

Now that is PATHETIC, UNPROFESSIONAL and UNACCEPTABLE.
