Newtown had thrashed Saints two weeks earlier 55-7, the first team to score 50+ points in a semi.
It was also claimed that Balmain & Newtown colluded to throw the final, and then with the right of minor premiers challenge, reap the benefits of an extra gate in the GF.
If Newtown won the final they wouldve been premiers....three in front. :shock: [-X
