I watched it untill 5 (the test). Lots of quality stuff in there but f**k, alot of crap! Mainly the 80's mainstream hair metal shite. Perfect reasoning as to why the 80's were the worst decade for music ever.

Maaaaaan. Sorry i missed it. The inspiration of juxtaposing the old and the new may have come from this recent CD.... I'm waiting for Hrundi's take on the Big Star selection. Not what I would have picked....

Title: The Rock'n'Roll Disease
Company: Savage Beat (Australia)
Catalogue No: (SB003)
Format: Double CD (album)
Released: August 2004

The Rock'N'Roll Disease places the best of the new generation of rock'n'roll stars alongside many of their greatest influences.

Features some of the biggest names in the history of rock'n'roll including Iggy & The Stooges, The Ramones, MC5, Alice Cooper, Radio Birdman, Velvet Underground, New York Dolls, Saints and Suzi Quatro along with emerging stars such as Jet, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Datsuns, The Hives, Casanovas, Spazzys, Donnas, Hellacopters and Turbonegro.

It's the first compilation of its type and serves as a great primer for anyone getting into this rock'n'roll stuff.

With 47 tracks and over two and a half hours of rockin' noise it also has extensive liner notes and rare photos - anyone who loves rock'n'roll will dig this.

There is still plenty of fans like me out there, believe me ;-)

Yeah...I thought the same thing after there was nearly 2 hours worth of that crap, someones gotta like it.

But then again, it was a "rock" theme. And there weren't that many Rock video clips made pre-1980. Some ancient stuff was played though, Billy Thorpe when he was soft and some Master & Apprentices - Turn Up Your Radio.

I only watched it till 5 though, missed out on some Tatts

My favourites were -

Let There Be Rock - AC/DC
Tribute - TENACIOUS D
Cold Hard Bitch - JET
Girls Best Friend - THE DATSUNS
Cochise - AUDIOSLAVE
Slither - VELVET REVOLVER
Paranoid - BLACK SABBATH
Rock And Roll - LED ZEPPELIN - was a live at the SCG clip, you could see a young version of my Dad for a few seconds in the crowd.
Roadhouse Blues - THE DOORS
My Generation - THE WHO
Turn Up Your Radio - THE MASTER'S APPRENTICES
Smells Like Teen Spirit - NIRVANA
Even Flow - PEARL JAM
All My Life - FOO FIGHTERS
Spoonman - SOUNDGARDEN
Take It Off - THE DONNAS
Bad Reputation - JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS
School Of Rock - JACK BLACK & THE CAST OF STUDENTS
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction - THE ROLLING STONES
Vertigo - U2
She Sells Sanctuary - THE CULT
Should I Stay Or Should I Go - THE CLASH
School's Out - ALICE COOPER
The Boys Are Back In Town - THIN LIZZY
Panama - VAN HALEN
I Wanna Rock - TWISTED SISTER

As much as I hate to admit it, I didn't mind those songs. Eddie Van Halen is a top guitarist.

Growing On Me - THE DARKNESS
Gimme All Your Lovin' - ZZ TOP
The Right Time - HOODOO GURUS
Beers - DEJA VOODOO
Who Made Who - AC/DC
Fall To Pieces - VELVET REVOLVER
Kick Out The Jams - MC5 featuring IAN ASTBURY
Kickin' My Heart Around - THE BLACK CROWES
Helter Skelter - U2
Sweet Emotion - AEROSMITH
Wonderboy - TENACIOUS D
Voodoo Child - JIMI HENDRIX
Dazed And Confused - LED ZEPPELIN
Black Night - DEEP PURPLE
Love Me Two Times - THE DOORS
It's Only Rock & Roll - THE ROLLING STONES
MF From Hell - THE DATSUNS
Iron Man - OZZY OSBOURNE
Love Is Only A Feeling - THE DARKNESS

So putting up with the 80's shite was well worth it

:p

The guitar work is good..but once the reverbed and scratchy singing comes in along with the electric drums...

How did you know that would be on Dani?

Can you let us know if they'll be doing something similar again soon?
