Especially from hardly credible sources.

Kearney may have ace up sleeve
Danny Weidler
October 9, 2010
STEVE KEARNEY’s appointment at the Eels is smart on so many levels – not least will be his ability to recruit players. Not only is he respected by the Storm players, he has the support of all the very best Kiwis in the NRL. And then there is a prominent former Kiwi league star and All Black in the making, Sonny Bill Williams. Kearney has stayed in regular touch with Williams since he walked out on the Bulldogs. When SBW was in Toulon Kearney maintained contact as a friend and has always been a huge supporter. Clearly Williams faces a big challenge as he tries to earn a place in the All Blacks side for next year’s World Cup. And if he makes that side, he will be hard to bring back to the NRL. However, Williams has plenty of time for Kearney and if the Eels manage to recruit Quade Cooper at the end of the World Cup, the chances of Williams then joining the Eels would increase again. Cooper and SBW are friends and would love to play in the same team.

Hmmm, so we will have Hayne, Quade Cooper and SBW.....

So with Danny Weidler logic, the Dogs through Ben Roberts have a chance to sign Tim Cahill.

SBW has been doing really well for Canterbury in the ITM and looks like he'll walk into the Crusaders team next year. He's on track to get a AB jumper it seems.

Anyway, pretty sure that he's under contract with the Dogs until 2013 (?) and last time anyone asked they wanted $1m for him to get a NRL release.

Its a bit different, dont you think?

SBW walked out and cash had to be paid to the Dogs so he could play elsewhere.

Orford is doing the same and cash will be paid to the Bulls. It's been stated for a few months that he has/had no intention in going back to the UK.

The only difference here is who pays the cash. SBW had to pay it himself. Orford is getting us to pay it.

When someone says this

"I'm happy to be staying here with the boys and I'm happy to be here with the Club. I want to be a Bulldog for life. The club is just as much apart of me a part of me as I am of the club. I love the Bulldogs"

and then walks out on his team mates & club, fans & supporters of rugby league in general - I dont have time for them.

I agree with you though, I will feel the same about Orford if he walks out on his contract.

(Im not comfortable in talking a ex-Moanly/Storm player anyway)

Plenty of people say "I do" at their wedding too, but it doesn't always pan out that way. Harsh to judge when you're not part of it IMHO.

Marriages can breakdown for any reason but he dogged his fans and club for more money. He could have at least waited to see out his contract but he didn't even have the decency to do that .

And does anyone really want someone that uttered the words ' I love the bulldogs ' to play for parra. No thanks !

.

I think SBW was just benched at Canterbury due to some defensive issues so it will be interesting to see how he goes.

Id love to have SBW in the #13 for the Eels, but not going to happen, I think he's pretty happy in union, anyway i think the Warriors would be his prefered club if he did return.

Parra fans hate manly. We are getting orford. He has stated in the manly daily that he loves manly. Does that bother you?

Manly hate is very situational.
For example, I hated Orford because he used to play for Manly, however, if he signs with us and we win lots and lots of games I like him.
