Ford Advertisement On This Forum

Each time I visit this forum, an advertisement for Ford appears taking up the full screen.

I am not sure if it is something relating to my computer or an something created by the mods.

Given that the Dragons now have Jeep and Alfa Romeo as major sponsors of the Dragons, I believe it is inappropriate for a competitor to be advertised so prominently on this forum.

What are your thoughts?

It's a privately run forum bud which they have to fund.
You think Dousty is handing over any money for it?
If he were you'd be screaming bloody murder because it should be going to the team.

I suggest you should probably pick up on the fact that it doesn't go full screen unless you mouse over the ad.

This forum is not owned or run by anyone affiliated with the dragons, so why on earth should they observe and respect sponsors of individual clubs? This forum needs money to run the service you use.

its a completely unrelated business to the dragons....

and it pays for your fun...

personally, i have no problem with the occasional ad popping up if it keeps this place free..

The Front Row Forum :: Rugby League > Rugby League - Australia > St George Illawarra Dragons

Try opening a business using the name ST George Illawarra Dragons in Kograh and see how far you get. Of course this forum is associated by name at least. I am sure it operates with the full blessing of the Club.

So I beg to differ. I am sure most members on this forum believe that this forum is for ST George Illawarra fans and supporters. The subjects on the forum are all about things 'Dragons' and Rugby League.

My point is that our support for the Club/team should also include co-operation and support for the Clubs commercial supporters.

Imagine the Dragons Army sporting a banner for Ford at Win Statium. Would you be happy with that?

So I ask the moderators or who ever is in charge of this, to at least ask Jeep if they want to advertise on the forum; starting date to be at the conclusion of the current arrangement.

If the Daily Telegraph run an article with the topic being St George Illawarra Dragons, are they trying to start up a business with the name of St George Illawarra Dragons?

Firstly, internet advertising is rarely done by direct negotiations with the companies advertising, it's run through an advertising agency such as Google Ads, and run on a number of sites until the quota of views or click throughs are hit based on their agreements.

Secondly, these forums have no affiliation with the club, nor do they claim to. So everything else you've written is poorly informed and completely irrelevant.

Very little to worry about if that's all the problems we have

more third world problems, there is this 4WD that keeps taking over my computer

and a big thanks to those who obviously understand that something has to fund all these costs that enable us to provide a free service to all our members

The ad can be easily switched off by clicking the 'X' Close icon in the top right hand corner.

LeagueUnlimited is very happy to have Ford on board as a sponsor, enabling us to keep the site free for all members.

Possm, with respect, you seem a little confused as to how things work here. Hope this helps:

In short, the club has its own sponsors, and LeagueUnlimited is an independent website with its own sponsors. St George have never financed this forum in any shape or form, nor have they assisted with any revenue share promotions.

LeagueUnlimited has dozens of forums and it caters for RL fans from numerous competitions and clubs. LeagueUnlimited has no financial connection with Saints or any other NRL club, same goes for the QRL, NSWRL, CRL and ESL. Of course we know each other and have a good relationship with their media people, but that's all.

Of course we do our best to promote RL - we are, after all, a website set up by people who simply love the game. We do this for free.

But we still have running costs. Without sponsors there would be no LeagueUnlimited, and this forum would not exist.

Willow,
Thanks for taking the time to explain. Now I understand things better and request you delete this thread.

It is not my wish to cause any harm or embarrasment to those running the show or to those sponsors so kindly supporting the forum.

Btw, I think we're all missing the point here. Is the Ford Ranger any good? I really don't know.

I've been a Ford man all my life, but drive a Nissan Navara now - dual cab ute. Having said that, a new work vehicle is due next year so I'll be giving the Ranger a test drive.

Would that be the ALL NEW, AWARD WINNING, 2012 Ford Ranger with the 2.2 litre turbocharged diesel engine that's available now from your nearest Ford dealer?
