After reading posts and stories on how Italy beat Greece and how Holland is trying to set up its own internal League competition, I was wondering which of the developing nations actually posses their own national (or internal) competition. I mean it really isnt Italy beating Greece if all the players that played are based in Australia, it's more like Italian heritge v Greek heritage.

As a huge fan of these smaller countries, I am interested in which of them are trying do like Nono from Georgia (and the US and Russia) and set up their own competitions.

Anyone actually know which countries have comps and which are mainly based on heritage?

Italy and Greece are both in the process of trying to set up domestic competitions.

Is that what you said when the all English Irish Soccer team qualified for the world cup a while ago?

They are all trying.

Anyone actually know which countries have comps and which are mainly based on heritage?

Russia, France, England, PNG, Australia, Fiji, South Africa, Cook Islands, (all other smaller Pacific Island countries not mentioned), Holland, Germany, Serbia, Japan, USA, Argentina, Canada have their own comps and their teams are mostly drawn from homebased teams. Argentina and Canada havent played internationals lately.

New Zealand, Lebanon, West Indies, Tonga, Samoa, Morocco, American Samoa all have domestic leagues but their strongest sides come from Overseas based players.

Greece, Italy, Malta, Singapore,South East Asia? are the only teams i am aware of with solely hertige (overseas) players without a home based presence.

Italy has been setting up its domestic comp for over a decade now! They need to get real.

I'd be sceptical over Ukraine from BB's list. We've covered the Ukraine subject in greater detail a few months back.

I trust my sources 100%. You don't need to believe them.

I love being proved wrong but I don't believe there's any regular, organised rl going on in Ukraine, Morocco (all players in Med Cup were French when some were supposed to be from Morocco), Italy, or South Africa (they recently hosted a tour from Oz but that doesn't mean there's activity going on in SA, such is the case with Morocco in the past).

Singapore, Greece and Malta all seem to be making the right noises and the Windies is the latest superstar success story.

Chile and Denmark? I'll watch this space.

Would it be worthwhile to contact RLIF so those of us interested know the exact status of League in other countries? ie player numbers strength clubs etc. Even knowing that overall info relating to the 3 powerhouses would be interesting.
I know it could be guessed by massive searching, but stats from our own organisations would be good.

How many times do I have to post this here . Samoa doesn't have a domestic comp and the same goes for America Samoa .
