Good and bad news. I really want them to make the world cup and this should help enormously but I also want them to have a good chance of doing well in the real deal if they do get there.

If they get there they will have the extra preperation time under Guus.

I have a funny feeling about this campaign of ours. A bit like we have some divine intervention pushing us. It's hard to explain really.

in the spirit of fair play i would hope that each side could field a full strength line up. it seems clear to me that australia doesn't believe in fair play and will do anything to win even if it means cheating, which they do their fair share of...

Just tell me how is this Australia's fault? He got injured playing for his club FFS! All we want to do is qualify and I like most Australian supporters could not give a toss whether we are playing their full strength side or not!

At least we have a chance, NZ lost to the Solomon Islands FFS!

it doesn't really matter. every 4 years no one from NZ expects us to qualify and we don't. life goes on as per usual. australia though, get their hopes up quite high every 4 years, only to be crushed when they are beaten every 4th year. now because they can't handle continuous defeat, they've taken the gutless option and will try to qualify via asia. sounds like the work of cowards imho...

It's smart if you ask me. South America is so damn hard to quaify through. Teams that come 6-7th in South America we would struggle to beat consistently!

The funniest part is that soon Australia will be so big in international football that New Zealand will be famous for being close to us!

lol "qualify"

Enjoy losing my pseudo-Asian friends.
Do you even know why they are moving to Asia? It is hard to improve if you are not pushed to. Playing your kiwis is hardly a challenge. What is a typical score between the Anzacs when we field a second string team? 4-1 or something like that.

Has NZ ever even qualified for the World Cup before? I doubt it but feel free to find me an appropriate record.

1982 actually... tbh, we had to play more games then any other team had before us to qualify as well. whoa-yeah! \\\\:D/ \\\\:D/ \\\\:D/
