Format for possible future State u/20's comp ?

So if the current NYC reverts back to state based comps ......will it just be a replicate of the current ISC with all teams represented ? Or will new teams be added and other omitted ?

If like they say the nrl squads are expanded to 36 players would the queensland nrl clubs just let the districts field the u20 sides and then sign the elite players to their squads?. Melbourne would have to make a call on how they structre their system. Given there are victorian sides in the junior rep cups in queensland maybe they could expand that to field a u20 team? Or would they just use their affiliations with the sunshine coast to funnel home frown victorians northward after u18

Cost would be prohibitive unless the NRL or NRL clubs dipped into their pockets. It's a good idea, but can't see anyone forking out when there would be zero television coverage of the Queensland competition and they can just place them locally or blood them in Queensland Cup. It's a problem for the Cowboys more than the Broncos or Titans who have the Colts comp which is reasonably strong.

Foxtel won't let the NYC die as it provides them with low cost footy each Saturday & Sunday morning / early arvo. IE Camera crews are already there etc.

Just browsing on the Vic RL website and I noticed that they are holding trials for Victoria reps in u16, u18, and u20s for the 2017 season. Wondering what comps they will be playing in... I was under the impression that in Qld the Cyril Connel Cup comp had been cut, which is where their 16s had been playing previously. Does anyone know the format of the Qld junior reps and under 20s comp for next season?

So true..its not like it's totally unknown as teams and regions are obviously starting their preparations for next year's comps whatever they are.

maybe some Queenslanders that probably didn't get due recognition because of the era they played in... Norm Carr, Des Morris, Gerry Fitzpatrick shield.

Morris - Platz Brothers Trophy ? (Platz as in Lew / Greg)

Carr - Kelly Shield ? ( Kelly as in 'Ned' Noel)

I got told that all that Qld/NSW Cup teams will be given $500000 per year to make them all semi pro ie FT Coaching staff/Support Staff etc

Not sure about the State wide 20's though...
