Hopkins has started both games so far for London in the second row with Solomon Haumono.

According to match reports in Round 2, Lee ran down the Salford fullback who'd made a break and put on a try saving tackle... only to have Salford score out wide on the next play. London lost 20-16 and play top of the table Wakefield this weekend.

Typical of Lee. Such a determined and committed player. I remember when he almost chased down Albert Torrens after Torrrens had a head start, only for Torrens to eventually cross the line after a struggle with Lee holding on to his shirt.

Ive always been a fan of Lee ever since he came to Parramatta in 2003, he tries real best on the park, gives 100% he's a bit of a workhorse, goes well at dummy half and you can tell he's passionate cause he shows a lot of emotion whether he scores the winning try or makes a crucial mistake.

Like that game against Melbourne where it was pouring rain, and he slipped and gave away a penalty which wasnt really his fault. But after the game you can see him lying on the ground as if he felt he cost Parra the game, really I wouldve given him a pat on the back cause before not many Parra players show emotion.

All the best Lee.

He was pretty much in tears after that penalty and he didnt slip, Billy Slater milked it like a cow. I remember when we had that great comeback against the Cowboys in 03 he tunred to my section of the crowed and raised his fist. You could tell he was just so happy and proud.

i would have liked to see Lee Hopkins stay, i still believe there would have been room for him in the starting 17

Just on the whole "Parra loses all its players to other clubs" They are never happy at Parra" bla bla.

Ignoring the nuffs over in the UK cashing in, or not receiving interest from NRL clubs, there are bugger all "former eels" who are actually playing in clubs that will dent our chances at a title threat.

Tonga
Ryan
Kelly
Maguire
Chan

Are the only 5 former eels playing first grade at a club that will probably make the 8 in 2005.

Probably cull that list again as I think stu kelly is gonna struggle to get a run this year. Also the Canberra contingent, did well in 03 but were off the boil a bit last year.

And Chan isn't all that good anyway...

Replace him with Donald.

The thread was referring to teams that will realistically make the top eight. :p

Not a big fan of J Cayless. Much prefer our current pack.

I must say that J Cayless is a improvement on our current crop of Props. A J Cayless, Cannings front row would monster alot of other sides.

The only reason why J Cayless doesnt really intrest me is that IMO a fit Stringer could be great for us. Seeing what he did in a bad Souths side.
