Parramatta Eels forward Bryce Cartwright has been granted an immediate release. His NRL career appears to be over with Cartwright returning to St Marys to play lower grades.

Watched him the other week at Commbank. Had some alright touches. But it was honestly a bit sad to watch.

Not at the David Fifita level of underachievement. But a very promising player who really didn't get anywhere near his potential.

I'd say its up there. The hype is just further back in our memories. In 2016 he was being bigged up as a future superstar.

The Panthers to the Titans move really has been a career limiting one hasn't it.

He did pretty well to make it to 185 games really. Hook has a bit to answer for as to why he never reached his potential, if he had been developed properly the story could be very different. He was fun to watch over the years for varying reasons depending on which jersey he was wearing.
