I want better categories next year or I won't be turning up at the ceremony!

BTW, somebody hasn't been back to accept their award.........& I miss him. Has something happened to him?

I think this is relevant on Remembrance Day.

At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember him

I'm still upset at these results.
talk about timing! You had one decent thread with the Troll destruction & you are voted in.

I don't even know what I'm supposed to do this year.

I miss Ando already.

I'm a shadow of my former self.

Ah, but ShireShark has kicked along in to the new year. I'd say he's already a favourite for the funniest merkin of 2004

SS, I am sorry about my ever-increasing habit of taking pot-shots at you mate!

But, as I have several returned servicemen in my family who got shot at in the name of our country, I find your use of the Ode To The Fallen here in rather poor taste.

For the full version of the Ode, check this link:

SS mate, as much as I find you a great laugh, I agree with Shark.

The Ode and anything to do with Australian soldiers in that regard is pretty sacred, It shouldn't be used in a manner that takes the light off the sacrifices made by Australian servicemen and women over the years.

I disagree. The Ode, especially the bit that SS used, is also a part of popular culture and I don't think it should be held up as some sort of sacred cow. The important thing is that the sacrifices themselves are remembered, not that a poem becomes sacrosanct from a bit of irony.
