Fox Sports 3 is coming.. new channel

Is that true... none of the fox sports channels will be part of the basic backage ?

It's true. The new packages are:

Basic - $37
Sport - add $15
Foxtel movies - add $15
Optus movies - add $11

Entertainment (incl. Comedy channel) - add $15
Kids - add $15
World (incl History channel etc) - add $15
($20 for any 2 of the above 3 packages, or $23 for all three)

I think the old basic package (which included Fox Sports) was over $50, so effectively it's very similar, but you can elect not to have the sport channels.

Checked the site, and yep fox sports 1 and 2 is an extra now.

I have no need for the others - but to get the sports you have to get the basic package

I would be happy to pay $14 just to get the sports - the rest can fugg off.

Like I said before, the basic package used to include sport and was over $50, so its not like you'll be paying any more if you just get the new basic + sport.

Yeah, probably has something to do with the fact that Fox Sports will be showing all the One Day Domestic games and 20/20 cricket matches this summer.

I dont lead a sheltered lifestyle. I like my American sports just as much as
NRL. The sporting world doesnt start and end with Australian sport.

Remember Fox Footy is closing down after this AFL season, so next year Fox Sports will also have the pay TV rights for AFL.

There aren't any pay TV rights to AFL yet for next year are there??


Channel 7 & 10 bought the complete rights. Its up to them to on-sell to foxtel. Which they might not do considering its their only sport.

I agree with Legend. not enough NFL! considering there is 16 games in some weeks and we only get 4 games is bullsh*t. ESPN should get rid of PTI Australia, the history of cricket and other dull aussie sports shows and put the american sports on!
