It IS rich of nine to criticise the NRLs financial situation whilst they themselves have clearly been financially stupid. However Nine gets value out of criticising the NRL because people care about the NRL and how it is run (NRL fan cares) whilst it makes no sense for the NRL to criticise Nine since absolutely nobody cares or get emotional about Nine, so it does not have any impact. Nines finances do not sell newspapers but the NRLs do.

Sky TV in NZ are in a similar position, people are moving away from traditional TV and these pay TV companies are the ones bearing the brunt of it. Live sport is about the only thing they have over Netflix, Amazon etc

It blows my mind that C9 can criticise NRLs handling of money in one breathe then demand that the NRL reduce the price of their tv content because C9 signed a deal that they could not afford and that lost them money.

It seems obvious that C9 are the dickheads who cant handle their money.....
