Anastas a very good player, one of the better palyers running around...the over rated tag is used by sheep following sheep.

Would you take him over Benji Marshall?

Gee_Up]I agree- the media hypes these players up to be something they aren't. It's not like he is doing it.

Good we agreed on something, so why believe in the whole over-rated tag then ?

I won't knock him winning your clubs Best and Fairest, I only watched a handful of his games for the Roosters so I can't comment. I did watch him in all his SOO appearances though and don't think he deserves to be chosen on his performances.

Thats a fair comment, imo he didn't deserve to make it in 06 for the blues, but then again I didn't want gasnier there either. This yr his performance wan't special either. His best footy became more noticeable at the end of the season, and it will really depend how he goes this yr to.

As a former player I think I know my oppositions talent better than people on the side line. So when 50 players get a phone call from Rugby League Week magazine and are asked who is the most over-rated player and they spit out someone's name- I take their word for it.

Even Freddy was honest and said he deserved that tag the year he got it.

I don't think current NRL players running around are sheep following sheep. They have no idea who voted for who, they just give their opinion. I'll take the word of players who play against him over his coach or his mate commentating any day.

I disagree, a coach would have a better indication then the other players. Just because a coach comments on there player doesn't necessarily mean its going to biased.

They read papaers, forums etc...though you basing perceptions on a dodgy RLW poll tells us a lot.

Marshall at his best?
No way.

Though if I knew marhsall would sit out 80% of the last 2 years and when he did in fact make it on the field he'd play like crap, then Id take Anasta.

Whats the point?

A coach may have a front row seat to watch the game but it's the opposition that is tackling and running at each other.

Thats there opinion and fair enough but it doesn't make it anything more.

Yes but that coach is watching that same player each week and more than that. So I would perfer his opinion on someone that has only played him say once or twice a yr.

 I'll be remembering this comment any time you pretend to know anything about any Roosters players ever again.

i wouldnt have Anasta in my top 5 players who could play five eight for NSW.

As for lock id probably choose Bird(if not in the halves) or Gallen over him.

Not as overated as most people think but i think there is better out there at this point in time

My opinion is based on what I see. If I see Anasta play 5 games I'll judge him as a player on those 5 games.. how else can you form an opinion?

Your opinion is he is one of the better 5/8's running around. I just wanted to know if you'd prefer him to your current number 6.

I agree. I am stating I agree with their opinion based on what I have seen with my own eyes. Not what media or coach or commentator talks him up to be.. my opinion is based on what I have seen. You obviously disagree as most Rooster fans would. Fair enough.

Anasta was not even close to the worst player in that side. Imo the halves had nothing to work with, the forwards were not laying a platform. NSW have been piss poor for the majority of Murray's coaching. I wonder if Gee_Up and co will still be spewing crap once the season starts.

I agree with your opinion. The forwards were terrible. You just paid for the one that dogged it the most. The NSW forwards haven't always been beaten with Anasta in the side though- and he played average then as well.

I thought the major problem with NSW was that there too many auto-selections who weren't in good form and were still picked after poor showings in Game 1. Experience is great to have in a side but what good is it when these guys can't motivate themselves to play on our biggest stage. Time for a re-shuffle I think.

That's a more diplomatic way of putting it across :)

I get slammed as I am a South Sydney supporter bagging the selection of a Rooster player.

BUT

I also think Nathan Hindmarsh has had to many chances to impress at SOO as well.

Here's a novel idea. Watch more than 5 f*#king games before you start sprouting off like you are an expert on the Roosters and Anasta specifically.

It's pretty bloody simple.

Fittler and Johns...tbh they could probably contribute more by playign 10 mins each. Our halves are a massive problem next year.
