Tayshaun Prince will sign a four-year, $27 million-plus contract to stay with the Detroit Pistons, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
For the Pistons, convincing Prince to re-sign was the franchises No. 1 priority, and something of a coup considering the tumultuous past two seasons for him and the longstanding core of veteran players. With the market for starting small forwards thinning, the Pistons wouldve been in a bind had Prince decided to leave.
Caron Butler played just 29 games for the Dallas Mavericks last season before a knee injury ended his season. He still earned a reported three-year, $24 million contract to play for the Los Angeles Clippers next season.
The Phoenix Suns have (reportedly) come to terms with former Laker guard, Shannon Brown. The deal is reported to be for one year and $3.5 million. Brown is an extremely athletic 6-4 combo guard who has five years experience in the NBA.
The Miami Heat and Eddy Curry have had an odd on-again, off-again relationship over the past few months. After getting a couple workouts in Miami late last season, the Heat passed on the former lottery pick.
But finally, Curry will be taking his talents, or what he has left of those, to South Beach. According to HoopsWorld, Curry will sign a deal with the Heat Friday, presumably for a year.
Battier announced on his Twitter account Thursday that he plans to sign with the Heat when free agency opens on Friday afternoon. A number of contending teams had been courting Battier over the last few days, including the Orlando Magic and San Antonio Spurs.
Mike Dunleavy will sign with the Bucks on a two-year, $7.5 million deal, according to a source.
Dunleavy is coming off a long-term contract with the Pacers. Dunleavy will take a portion of Milwaukee's mid-level exception.
Jonas Jerebko is also a done deal, according to multiple sources.
Jerebko, who missed all of last season with an Achilles injury, agreed to a four-year, $16 million deal to remain in Detroit. Jerebko, a second-round pick in 2009, surprised people around the league in his rookie season, averaging nine points and six rebounds.
Curry?!? Well that will be fun. I don't know why the pistons kept prince at that price... They are such a mess
The Celtics are going to announce the acquisition of veteran point guard Keyon Dooling from the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, the first day of training camp and trades can become official, according to a league source.
The deal is expected to include a second-round draft pick headed to Milwaukee and it gives the Celtics a veteran backup point guard behind Rajon Rondo, who remains a Celtic after Chris Paul was dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers. The deal is somewhat complicated because the Celtics are over the salary cap.
Restricted free-agent guard Marcus Thornton has signed a five-year, $40 million deal to remain with the Sacramento Kings, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard. Thornton thrived after a midseason trade from the New Orleans Hornets, and the Kings have clearly made it a top priority to retain him.
PHOENIX -- A person with knowledge of the deal says Grant Hill is returning to the Phoenix Suns, agreeing to terms on a one-year, $6.5 million contract.
