Friday Night Football becoming a dud

They choose the games too far away from the date. Is it really neccessary to choose em 8 rounds in advance ?
Well the AFL choose all of them at the start of the season and people say that they have a whole lot longer to plan to go to a match (especially those from the country and on low incomes), that's why the NRL changed it from 5 weeks in advance to 10 weeks (is it now 8?)

They pick the games 10 weeks in advance or is it back to 5 weeks now? Anyway, you've got to look at how the ladder looked back then. Also, apparently there has to be at least QLD team playing on Friday each week so 9 can show it live up there, the cowboys are playing the worst footy any team has in 20 years so 9 only has the broncos or Titans to pick from to show live in QLD.

Not true. Ch9 does not necessarily have to pick a QLD team on Friday night football. I believe there is a round coming up where the FN games are Manly vs Melbourne and St George/Illawarra vs Wests Tigers. If someone could verify this for me, I'd appreciate it.

That's why I said "apparently" if you look closely. I heard it somewhere.

I don't think it's set in stone. They try to pick them as earliest as possible but it's difficult.

It's hard to compare the AFL and the NRL because the joint contract between the Nine and Fox means they both have to have their say in regards to order of allocations. Also, in the AFL, the Melbourne sides play between 2 stadiums which means it's a lot easier negotiating the scheduling between the clubs.

generally, the game is f**ked. brisbane v parra has been the only great game i can recall. the reliance on kicking for tries is killing the spectacle.

and live games against the gate, or broadcasting matches while another match is being played in the market are doing more hinderance than good. there is absolutely no reason to go to the match. if you do, you're knob.
