Whomever can cover coen Hess. He's got a mistake in him but is an animal. In all for host. But Kerr might be an option against a much weakened cows pack to give him some game time

Host was 'dropped' to get more minutes. Mary has stated that He wants Simms in the middle and Host has earned the right to be first called up on the edge, which is his natural position.

There's a difference between middle and edge players (which many people don't seem to get) but Host deserves that spot.
My opinion to Host differs to yours.
I dont think he has done anything to "deserve" a spot.
Granted he has had limited minutes, but he hasnt shown anything at all to say he deserves a spot imo.
Simms is better suited as a back rower. He doesnt offer the impact up front of Vaughan, Packer, AhMau.
Put him in place of frizz, he can pump out big minutes.
And put a Big body on the bench to replace Simms in the front row rotation.
Kerr has been really impressive in NSW cup... give him a run.
Bench: AhMau, Kerr, Havilli and Milne/Sele.
McInnes is looking very good for a SOO spot, give Havilli some time from now to get ready.
Vaughan, Frizz, and Jdb are all also looking good for SOO... give Sele and Kerr and Host some time also to get our depth ready.
Dugan isnt an issue... we can cover that loss with nighty/mann/ and milne all ready to go.
We need players ready to jump in for McInnes, Vaughan, Jdb and Frizz in a worst case scenario.
Kerr is looking the most likely to replave Vaughan with his size and footwork.
Simms can move to lock and Host can take over Frizz if he proves himself..
All need time to show what they got.

Host or Kerr before Masoe. By all reports he hasn't been great in reserves.

Host was dropped to get more minutes rather than form based. So makes sense to bring him back in as he'll get the minutes.

Get more minutes where ? He hasn't been playing for Illawarra.

Mary might go with Sim's experience and proven defensive record rather than Host, whose form has been average so far this year. Personally I'd rather not move Sims as the current rotation is working well, we're not losing too much momentum when Vaughan and Packer are off which is really important. Sele has been OK off the bench, good effort last week but if we move Sims out for Frizell it might be a good opportunity to give the 115kg Kerr a run as bench prop with instructions to copy Ah Mau, run hard and straight and tackle everything.

Its Hosts second season at the top level so i think people are expecting a little to much at this time.

How about give the young fellow a chance.

Hang on, on one hand you say 'play Simms over Host' while on th other you say that Host needs game time in order to show he can play the depth role? You making no sense hombre!

Host is a specialist edge player and a damn good one - in fact, he was the best one in NSW Cup last year at 20years old. He's sat on the bench for 5 games this year scoring a token 10-15minute run in the middle, he definitely deserves time in his preferred position.
On the other hand, Simms has been playing in the middle for the last year and a half, and has been conditioned as prop where he's been doing fine. So if you put him to Friz's spot, he's likely going to need someone to cover him for a breather and none of the other forwards on our bench can fill that role.

Giving the likes of Kerr, Sele, Havili and even Lawrie minutes in NRL should be done via that 3rd forward bench spot (that Host was occupied and that Sele played on the weekend). But to cover injury we need that specialist edge player and Host is definitely next in line.

Prefer to have Simms remain where he is , as he is more destructive coming off the bench . He can give it his all whilst on the field , then have a break and return when the other forwards begin to tire .

Far better to have a player of his bulk and size coming on as a replacement , that way the pressure is maintained on the opposition .

As to Frizzell's replacement , I like ALSGI's idea of bringing in young Kerr , apparently playing well in the Illawarra side , perhaps the time has arrived for him to show his ability in the top grade ?

For me it is a easy decision . Host is our best young edge forward and he should slot straight in . The only reason he went back to reserve grade was to get a full game under his belt . Leave the front row rotation as it is with Sim's off the bench .

Sele is showing the benifit of a full season with the Cutters last year and is capable of playing against men deserves his spot in the top 17 . Kerr at this stage isn't anywhere near up to the speed of first grade . I think Blake Laurie is well ahead of him . And as for Mose he is by far the worst of the Cutters forwards and really should be back playing in the local league .

Gets back to the role Frizz played before being injured

Was he defending in the middle in defence and as an edge forward in attack.

Host and Leilua are both damaging edge runners.

Host is at present a better defender.

If additional size and power is what we want, would like to see Kerr given a cameo
