Hey guys.... im new on here... so go easy on me :D

Hey there Dan, welcome :D

I hope, for the eels sake that he has nothing to answer for. We seriously do not have the depth nor experience at this point to lose Fuifui! ive got a good feeling we will see him lining up in round 1.

I just can't imagine that sacking is even a possibility. Newspapers love to blow any little story they can find in to WW3 given half a chance ;-)

Brett Finch pleads for Fuifui Moimoi

By Ray Chesterton | January 21, 2009 12:00am

BRETT Finch last night pleaded with Eels officials not to sack cult hero Fuifui Moimoi over his tumultuous Tongan holiday.

As revealed exclusively in yesterday's Daily Telegraph, Moimoi was stranded on the tiny Pacific island of Vava'u and more than 10 days late getting back to Australia to join his Parramatta mates on the training paddock.

The hard-hitting prop arrived at Parramatta Stadium just after 7am yesterday and slogged it out in the heat with the rest of the Eels squad before he met with chief executive Denis Fitzgerald and coach Daniel Anderson in the afternoon.

During the one-hour meeting documents were presented, including travel details, before the club released a four-paragraph statement, which said "an appropriate course of action would follow later this week".

The Daily Telegraph believes a fine is the most likely form of punishment. However, after several off-field dramas last season, a more serious penalty is not out of the question.

Finch said Moimoi was in good spirits and hoped the popular hit-man would not be shown the door.

"It was his first day back and all the boys were really happy to see him," Finch told The Daily Telegraph.

"He's a popular member of the squad. Surprisingly he was in pretty good shape and hadn't put on any weight.

"A lot of us don't know the circumstances about why he was late and I'm sure he's going to have to explain himself to the board, the coaching staff and the playing group.

"We're trying to build a new culture here at Parramatta and this sort of thing isn't tolerated. I don't know why he went missing. But from a personal point of view I hope he isn't sacked because I consider him a good friend and a valuable member of the club.

"When Fuifui is playing well he makes a huge difference to the club.

"I hope he stays, but at the end of the day that decision will be made by those in higher positions."

Finch said Moimoi did not have much to say, "but Fuifui doesn't have much to say at the best of times".

It is understood Moimoi, who only returned to Australia on Monday, has offered to make up for lost time by completing extra sessions.

He does not want out of the club and only last year turned down a two-year deal to join English Super League giants Bradford.

...because players under contract have all the say in whether they accept rogue offers that would mean they break their contract with their existing clubs, apparently?

I can't believe some of the crap about this.

Give him a fine, make him do some charity work - and then get on with it.

You can't have it both ways. Either you want discipline ala` 2008 style..or you want to increase the stakes...where the dog wags the tail and not vice versa

(In a small country pub, all the patrons became quite used to the pub owners little dog being around the bar, so were quite upset when one day the little dog died.

Everyone met to decide how they could remember the little dog. The decision was to cut off his tail and stick it up behind the bar to remind everyone of the little dog's wagging tail.

The little dog went up to heaven and was about to run through the pearly gates when he was stopped by Saint Peter, who questioned the little dog as to where he was going.

The little dog said "I have been a good dog - so I am going into heaven where I belong!". Saint Peter replied "Heaven is a place of perfection, you can not come into heaven without a tail, where is your tail?"

The little dog explained the what had happened back on earth. St Peter told the little dog to go back down to earth and retrieve his tail. The little dog protested that it was now the middle of the night on earth, but St Peter would not change his mind.

So the little dog went back down to earth and scratched on the door of the pub until the bartender who lived upstairs came down and opened the door.

"My goodness, it is the spirit of the little dog. What can I do for you?" said the bartender. The little dog explained that he wasn't allowed into heaven without his tail, and he needed it back. The bartender replied "I would really like to help you, but my liquor license doesn't allow me to retail spirits after hours!")

Threw that in to help with the explanation of dog wagging the tail...Get It?

Moimoi fined by Eels over no-show

AAP

Parramatta Eels frontrower Fuifui Moimoi has been reprimanded by the club for his late return to pre-season training.
The club issued a statement on Wednesday night saying Moimoi had been issued with a breach notice under the terms of his NRL playing contract.
It said Moimoi had been fined but did not disclose the amount.
A News Limited newspaper report had suggested on Monday the forward had been trapped by storms and flooding while on holiday in his homeland, Tonga.
Moimoi and his manager Roy Spagnolo had met with club bosses to discuss the issues.
The club said it "considers the matter closed, and will be making no further public comment."
