killing Joke!!!!

Hmmm interesting.

Kurt Cobain/Nirvana still owes them royalties for ripping off "Eighties" with "come as you are".

Some mates of ours went a few years back, they reckoned it was great, although the crowd was pretty different, the japanese are all about the music and they don't spend the entire festival getting sh*tfaced the way a lot of people here would. Apparently they all have super-high tech camping gear too!

I was sold at Flogging Molly, Blackalicious and Dirty Pretty Things!

I've always wanted a festival like this to come to Australia!

The tickets cost a FORTUNE and the thing is massive. We would never get the crowds required to get it to work out.

However I heard a rumour that the organisers of V Festival that runs in England were planning a summer festival out here...

We need a good autumn festival or somthing out here - all our festivals are always around the same point; splendour in winter, BDO/Homebake in summer, etc - why not somthing around April/May?* :?

*Note: In saying that, someone will point out that there is some kinda good festival in that time frame...

April/May - Byron has Bluesfest, Sydney has Great Escape, Perth has West Coast Blues.

The thing you have to remember is that April/May is the US festival season (Coachella). Then that flows on to the European festival season. Summer is successful here because nowhere else has festivals up against it, and because they want to spend the summer out here.

The one difference is Splendour in Byron - the only reason why it attracts the lineup is because they are coming out for Fuji the weekend after any way...

What we need is a bigger festival to get more of those acts here before Fuji - that would mean a bigger venue and destroying the soul of Splendour...

Wish Livid would comeback, that usually had awesome lineups.

Me too! Loved both the events that came to Melbourne...

Hopefully one of these days I'll be able to realise my dream and organise Luke-apolooza ;)
