Been to the ground?

It's a Leichardt stand tier. I'd be shocked if it saw out a decade. I'm not joking when I say North Sydney Oval has better quality stands than the Jane Try.

Which is a dump not fit for long term use.

Tear it up, get a new stand in there. A suburban ground like Brookie should take what it can get and having a stand eventually condemned and empty because people don't like hills is a bit silly.

What's worse on the telecast, a hill or an abandoned stand?

People have been saying it will be abandoned for ages

do the hill then if Jane try becomes dangerous they are forced to rebuild a stand there and the whole ground would have stands

Well D-Day is arriving for Leichardt Oval.

Mate it's a suburban ground, it took nearly 30 years to get the Fulton Stand built after the Arko.

be realistic here dude. Unless the entire ground gets rebuilt or two stands can be built simultaneously that's just not a clever choice.

As am I.

Who's going to cover the exorbitant maintenance costs of an ancient stand as the years go by? Get rid of it.
What cost ?

they haven’t spent ten cents on it in fifty years

if concrete cancer is truly an issue then replace if then

leaving the hill when you can have a two tiered stand there is nuts imo

cost of maintaining the ground anyway falls upon the owners ie council

I firmly believe many will get at least 100 to 150 million when the grand final deal gets sorted

The Council can just decide to...not, you know?

They've been complaining about maintaining it for over a decade now. What's Manly gonna do, move? lol.

As for 'just replace it', again, with what money?

A hill and a modern stand are better than a closed ancient stand and a modern stand.

If it happens, great. But it has to happen first.

There’s been less complaining about the costs from Council since the merge of Manly, Warringah and Pittwater. It was Warringah Council that used to whinge about the cost to them of having the Sea Eagles play out of Brookvale.

the crowds at Brookie have been stunning

first ground in Sydney now that deserves some of that sweet govt grand final money

if it were up to me pvl should ask for

1. Brookie 150 million
2. Lo and shark park 50 million
3. Win stadium 150 million
4. Newcastle 100 million
5. Campbelltown 100 millon

600 million on nsw stadia to keep the grand final for 25 years

that just leaves warriors and raiders and the entire nrl is done

What I don’t get are peoples calls for $40-$50m to be spent on LO. What on earth is that actually going to achieve? SFA I reckon.

And what the hell would $50m at Shark Park fix?

Both suggestions are lipstick to a pig and a waste of funds.

I also don’t understand what Newcastle needs $100m for?

Would the nsw govt throw serious cash at a council owned asset?

Probably not it would have to be transferred over to the nsw stadium trust

the feds have thrown 20 to 30 million at kogarah and shark park in the past so that would be the limit
