not many balmain fans are making the trips to the state of the art bankwest to watch the tigers when they're at home & its a lot closer then liverpool
same with wests fans

its a a bit assumptive
idk about dogs fans either altho the liverpool area is more their territory

When discussing government funding for future stadiums, you have to look beyond NRL teams. Liverpool has more going for it as a concept than places like Kogarah, Penrith and Manly because they would likely have 2 NRL tenants as well as an A-league side. The Waratahs would probably play the odd game there as well as various national sides for lower drawing games.

Going on a tangent here, but that is why, IMO, Canberra needs to get an A-League team so they can justify building a new stadium in the city which will be used year round so they can get out of that shit hole at Bruce.

Cronulla will never commit to Kogarah - that is a stated fact. Documented 25% of members refuse to even attend games at that sithole hence why the club is returning to Shark Park next year, even at a reduced capacity. I'm hearing Kogarah will never be developed, there is no economic case for it.

Exactly just give the Sharks $50m to upgrade the stadium and we'll be on our way

Yes, but you are taking games away from Bankwest and ANZ, which are also run by Venues NSW, so for them that is robbing Peter to pay Paul. Good for the game, yes, but how does that make economic sense for Govt funding? Isn't the idea to eliminate the outdated old stadiums, not just move clubs around who already play at major stadiums?

Unless Souths move to SFS and you sell off ANZ. Is an 80K stadium needed for just two or three games per year?

Perhaps the NRL should do a deal with the Qld & Vic govts that the GF is played in the home state of the team that finishes on top of the ladder. PVL would love that.

We will all find out on the 22nd June 2021 in the state budget on funding for stadiums . At least 2 clubs will be happy.

Knight, Jets? I don't think the Jets get much than 10,000 these days anyway? A Knights of the Johns, Bedsy, Chief dynasties might fill it out..

Sharks won't get 5 bucks towards a upgrade being a privately owned stadium. Not 1 cent off taxpayers money will be spent there. So stay in your little suburban ground an get left behind an die a slow but quick financial death.

They should have built Bankwest at Olympic Park, it would have been used a lot more.

Dogs already own a great piece of land at Liverpool. It's where they were going to make the Stardome stadium before the whole salary cap scandal broke. It's well located. And with Liverpool probably going to be the 3rd major centre in Sydney in the future. It's a good time to look at that situation.

I have no doubt the Bulldogs would play the majority of their games at any new ground out that way (10+). As long as the Tigers bring 5-6 games. It would be more than worthwhile.

Yes this will be the future bulldogs homr stadium, with tigers playing there 6 home games here instead of bankwest or anz, but it still doesn't solve the tigers homebase issues, splitting home games between 3 home areas

Honestly I think the Tigers should go all in for Liverpool. Balmain fans won't go to Campbelltown. West's fans won't go to Leichardt. Liverpool is a compromise in the middle.

It is on the border of Eels, Tigers and Bulldogs. No one has claimed it.

Bulldogs own the land so would be well placed to use it. But...who else has the opportunity for a stadium smack bang on a train line. Get Belmore up to scratch and it would be awesome
