By all accounts the Paris opening ceremony was shit. Even this grand city cops arseholes.

The last thing Brisbane should be doing is listening to the southern/western media and twitter knobs and building f**king worthless stadiums like Victoria Park.
Yes, everyone loves to sit in the Grandstand and throw popcorn... and in the years leading up to every single Olympics we have "controversy" in the media about the venues. By the time the Olympics arrives all the selected venues will look spectacular

I'd love to see a 30k rectangular ground built on the site of the gabba. It would fit better on the footprint of the site without hanging over the road and would actually be a useful addition to our stadium setup. Well located for Roar, Reds, NRLW and smaller Dolphins games.

As far as cricket and fumbleball are concerned, I really don't five a f**k to be honest but a better idea than Vic Park (golf club was closed to make it a green space), is doing an oval stadium at the RNA Showgrounds in Bowen Hills which would be serviced by the new Cross River rail. 45k is more than enough though.

Then fill the corners in at Suncorp and / or build a new western stand to bring the capacity up to 65k.

Then after the games you have:

65k major rectangular stadium for Broncos, Dolphins, SOO, Magic Round, Socceroos, Matildas

45k Oval for Cricket and VFL

30k rectangular stadium for Dolphins, WSOO, Wallabies (lol), Reds, Roar and some lower drawing RL internationals.

A 30k rectangular stadium at Woolloongabba would be perfect for the Brisbane Tigers.

I didn't watch it, what happened?
Threesomes, drag queens, gay people, challenging religious dogma, beheaded people singing to thrash metal, people with disabilities break dancing.
it had everything pauline doesn’t like lol

was really intersting to see how they used the city rather than stadium. ceremony was a bit drawn out but the city backdrop, river and use of iconic buildings was stunning. Shame about the weather the poor buggers.

We have an entire subforum for deranged political opinions.

I should know, I live there.

Why the f**k is the most holy NRL forum, where our time is dedicated to reverse pubic wigs for male pattern baldness, group therapy masquerading for self-loathing of mid football teams, and outrageous homoeroticism, being sullied with some demented moron complaining about how woke ruined his olympics?
