will be interested to see what crowds they get. If they are good it might put some pressure on a few other cities to improve their rectangular facilities to get games - Canberra, Perth and AdelaideNow that cricket has abandoned Brisbane in November, it will further strengthen opportunities for international Rugby League at this time.
The Matildas are also capitalising and will be filling Suncorp and Cbus Stadiums next week.
It's not the first time they've brought in the 'drop-in' seats mid-season, they did it for one of the Rugby Championship matches played at the venue (which would have been around August) as per the photo below.Just looking at tickets for the Perth origin game and the stadium map seems to indicate that the extra 5k 'drop in' seats along the sidelines are on sale and going to be used.
Is anyone able to confirm this? Would it be the first time they have all been used and does rugby league have a shot at getting the crowd record this year?
Unlikely the AFL would agree to them on the pitch during their season but maybe it is something that has been agreed during the ongoing negotiations with the government for an NRL club?
Those 5k extra seats could bring a minimum of $500k extra revenue.
looks like @Desert Qlder was rightIt's not the first time they've brought in the 'drop-in' seats mid-season, they did it for one of the Rugby Championship matches played at the venue (which would have been around August) as per the photo below.
The WA Government will want to try and sell as many tickets as possible for the match (considering the fee they put up to win the rights).
