The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

This isn't new. This was released 6 months ago.

Plus shutting down Vulture and Stanley for construction won't be easy. And the school.
That design looks like it would be ridiculously expensive and a nightmare to build. I don’t think it was put forward as a serious costed proposal, probably more aimed at generating a bit of publicity for the architects. End of the day, I am not too concerned about the impact of a new stadium on rugby league, because I think there is a lot of growth momentum happening with league which won’t be stopped by a stadium. I’m not sure why others on here don’t have as much confidence in the game. Suncorp might get some minor renovations, but at the moment it is generally regarded as one of the premier league venues so not the same impetus to change it, apart from increasing capacity. Personally if I had to choose between VIC Park, Gabba, Hamilton or QSAC, I would go with VIC Park as a better ROI, but like everyone else on here, pretty sure the Government wouldn’t care what I thought.

Magic brings in huge tourism benefits

"Corporate Traveller compared flight and ground transport to, and hotel bookings in, the host cities during these events across 2023 and 2024. Brisbane during the NRL Magic Round recorded the highest growth in business travel bookings this year, at 26 per cent "

Would appear that Magic Round is becoming a must-see event for corporate Australia.

One thing that has been missed from this conversation is that rectangular stadiums apparently can host olypmic athletics…

2028 olympics in LA will be hosted here:

im not going to pretend to know more details than this, but is suncorp smaller?

Yes and No
The LA Coliseum was originally an Olympic Stadium with a standard athletics track. It was redeveloped by dropping the ground level and moving the seats closer. For LA 2028 , they will raise the ground level back to its original position with a temporary platform.

Interesting article but no figures other than stating that the tennis pulled 50% more than Magic Round, NRL GF, AFL GF, and Bathurst combined.

So let's say you attend 1 game per week.
Let's call that 25 games per year.
Divide 1000 by 25 and that’s 40.
So the bestest rugby league fan eva! Has attended, on average 25 NRL games per year for 40 years! Of course our hero is better than that! He attends 50 games a year! For 20 years!

What a great feat, even through the covid years, the years where he stopped watching league and became a swans member. All the while updating us with tiktoks! This little trooper couldn't be stopped as he earned the deserved title of:
Bestest rugby league fan eva!!

Sorry for going off topic, but our hero deserves recognition. Perhaps they'll name a future NRL stadium after him!
