The Brewongle and Clive Churchill stands need to be demolished and rebuilt and taken to the height to match the Victor Trumper Stand and the O' Reilly Stand demolished on the other side to match the Victor Trumper Stand.

The Members and Ladies stand will never go unless there is an earthquake or cyclone rips through and destroys the place.
I agree. .and the height part is right!... So cut the Brewongle and Clive Churchill stand and right on off stump build a greater height stand than the victor- what a land mark 20 stores high- and can watch sharp in-cutter take out off stump. Perfect view.

The 2 stands that are 100 years old will never be demolished. Ever.

Its the rest of the ground that needs upgrades.
The Brewongle/Churchill and Bill O'Reilly stands.
The Hill stand isn't that old.
I know, they are heritage listed, and nearly 150 years old! Would those other three stands would be the only ones remaining from the 1980s at any major stadium?

the difference in height isnt that much tbh, maybe 10 rows.

You could renovate the boxes and concourses and take the roof off and add a few levels rather than knocking the whole thing down

Those stands are older then the SFS, and have similar issues around access (disability as well as emergency). If you add more seats if makes these matter worse. Lipstick on a pig, as people here love to say.

The good thing about the SCG is that the stands are separate, so you don’t have to do it all at once, you can do in stages, so we are not talking billions.

Given the larger playing/floor area, a 5Ok SCG would give Sydney somewhere to stage big concerts whilst ACCOR is rebuilt as rectangular.

why wouldn't you just put it 500m north-east at Albion dog track and Alan Border field? rather than remove the rail yard. Sound like that would be very expensive.

I would suggest extremely difficult and costly to build where the railway yards and zero chance of happening. Doomben would also be very unlikely as is just a thought bubble from the Gold Coast Mayor. In terms of location I believe the best location is the RNA Showgrounds and getting the RNA to relocate to Albion. That is very unlikely as well. I think it will come down to Victoria Park or a redeveloped Gabba. There will be protests regardless of what is picked so I think the Government will be hoping to cop a bit of pain initially and hope everyone has moved on by the time of the next election. One of the many hospital passes from the previous government to deal with.

the showgrounds, pavilion and old museum would probably all need to be relocated and they're all heritage buildings. No chance.

These are all just thought bubble submissions by architectural firms seeking a big contract.

Each one wackier than the next.

Crisafulli went to the election on 'no new stadiums'.

For them to just "handwave" away the Rail stabling yards, shows they are not serious.

To just "re-locate" the yards in a few years, is just completely not feasible.
