haha yeh Kogarah is such a better stadium than MCG. You're cooked.
Playing rectangular sports on a large oval should be avoided wherever possible

As a one off sure but the nfl is a multi year deal

Accor would’ve provided a way better experience for fans and its capacity is still large

Wait for the complaints from Aussie fans when the game is on

Accor as bad as it is craps all over the mcg for viewing experience

You think you are getting into the NFL for under $100 like Origin?
I paid $200 for Origin ticket in a middling seat. Perth Origin ranges from $89-$340.
Point stands, the only people with a problem with it are the people who it makes no difference to as they have no intention of going lol

This is about showcasing Australia to travelling fans from America

It’s bad enough they are going to an awful ground but compounded that they will be in Melbourne not Sydney

Having it in Sydney would’ve grown the local interest more as well

I guess the Victorian govt had to pay a lot to cover for the commonwealth games debacle so money talks

100k in a packed out MCG will look awesome. Being there will be awesome. NFL taking it to the bank will be very happy. Vic cGovt raking in motza from travelling fans will be happy. NFL fans just desperately happy they finally get to see a game. Everyone's happy but you, and you have zero intention of going lol.

but yeh you're right, NFL should have accepted much less money just so shtty Accor could have been used with some fly overs of the opera house, which everyone has seen a million times. Cuckoo cuckoo

The MCG will be a terrible look.
We all know how far the actual field will be from the sidelines.
For the US viewers,it will remind them of all the old Cookie cutter stadiums of the 1960s.
Thats why they knocked them all down because they were horrible.
The MCG wont impress anyone over there when they normally play in SoFi,Allegiant and Bank of America Stadiums.

What the broadcast will do though is show so many shots of the huge stands and 100 000 people in the stadium.
To make it look far better than the experience it is for those that are there.
Oh, and many Sherrins.

College Stadiums are packed out every week with 90,000 to 110,000 every game.
Once again,95,000 at the MCG is no more impressive than a Beaver Stadium

Agreed. And they aren't huge crappy AFL/cricket grounds. They are rectangular so a much better viewing experience.

Baton Rouge - 102 000 capacity. Rectangular.

Auburn. - 87 000 capacity.

This is how you do rectangular stadiums.

The MCG is somewhat good for cricket and handball.
It is honestly shite for anything else.

It might be a reality check for Victorians when the US gives feedback out the MCG on social media. The victorians don’t take criticism well when it comes to afl or mcg
