.

They don't even need to touch the stands. Just demolish the concourse area and continue the stand's rake all the way to the field.

ChatGPT created and did a nice job on a redeveloped Accor Stadium
-90,000 seats
-Translucent Roof
-Video screen would need to be higher and wider on the end trusses but Ill take this

I think Auckland FC are being very smart here.
They've had a cracking first season with oversized (even unpredicted success) crowds but at some stage they won't be drawing similar attendances when they have less successful seasons. That's just what happens. Their record crowd this season has been over 27 000. Larger than the Warriors have had.
Playing in a smaller stadium and creating demand is where it's at.
They can always take larger games back to Mt Smart if they need to.
It's a nice treat to be owned by an American billionaire who can afford to build his own stadium.
Also, that picture looks as though that the stadium could be easily expanded to a much larger capacity if needed.

Maybe the American billionaire could buy mount smart stadium and upgrade it for both the warriors and Auckland fc?

New York FC play soccer out of Yankee stadium and they do a good job of fixing the odd shaped field with seating inside the regular fence. NRL could try same/similar at Stadium Australia for smaller games - especially at the ends. They dont have to be shyte house seats - way back in the next suburb - they could be desirable seats right up close.

Would love to see a decent stadium design that had three tiers of 20k each and you could close off or open up each tier as needed depending on the popularity of the sport. But done properly so it doesn’t feel like youre in an empty stadium if there’s only 17k in it. Surely in this day and age some smart architect and engineer could come up with a solution ?
