How much would it cost to bring it up to standard, 20-25k stadium? Have to get other sports and local community organisations involved to get funding.

In the interim, an idea could be to build a decent looking temporary stand on the hill, similar to what was done at Christchurch or Mt smart.
I think problem isnt just the money but now the Space to do it. I can’t imagine the new apartments would be pleased if they tried to build a massive new stand on that north side. The grass end is compromised with the power lines and the other side has apartments and the league club taking up most of the space. Not sure where you’d build an extra 10k seats?

Brookvale oval has the potential to be a very good stadium. The northern grandstand- COE is a good start. It has three more sides to go.

Campbelltown is following Brookies lead by building a grandstand-COE and is expected to be completed in 2027. All it needs is another $100 to $150 million to fully complete Campbelltown stadium.

Meanwhile Penrith is currently under construction. Leichhardt is getting a $40 million upgrade, but its still way short of been an NRL venue in the future. Kogarah may struggle to get funding with only a handful of games per year. But Tigers and Dragons do have options to play the other half of their home games, such as Allianz, Commbank or Accor.

And finally Shark Park. Currently there is no plans to upgrade the ground. The last upgrade was the southern stand back in 2006. But a hotel has been built right next to the ground. So what is the future of Shark Park?

Judging by discussion I’ve seen the plan is to get the ground back to 18000. I’ve been there with 20500 so that’s interesting. And delays due to ‘the Development’ are ongoing. Watch this space. I have for 5 years.

In no world should Kogarah should get any funding. The fans clearly don't like it otherwise they would show up.

All that money should be spent on stadium australia rather than those venues.

100%

I'd rather the government put all its stadium money into Accor Stadium.

Go for 80-90k capacity with a 40-50k club mode. Put a roof over it and we are sorted.
Yep. It has got to be the center piece in NSW making moves to take over from Victoria as the sports state and get all the sports tourism locked in. NSW should be embarrassed that the LA Rams game is going the MCG. 30k Americans with deep pockets will be out here for that.

You’d have to invest in it for the next thirty years. We are talking billion (s)

Yep! Billions. How the NSW government fund and build a new or redeveloped version will be fascinating to see. Last time we heard about Brookvale, Manly were looking towards private funding and pretty much given up lobbying the state government. While with Campbelltown, after the COE, there are no plans.

Yep. If Sydney got the next round of NFL games, all they would need is the Grand Prix and the Australian Open.

Didn't the developer say they want to hand over the leagues club and there's no work to be done by them?

I was always Pro Kogarah. Been going there for 30 years. But the modern sports world has finally caught up. We should start playing more of our Sydney games at SFS. Maybe 2 or 3 at Kogarah.

Some clubs being left behind by clubs like the Bulldogs and even Roosters on game day revenue. Whether that spurs them on or not remains to be seen.

It will be a shame if Dragons have a resurgence like the Bulldogs but they can’t get near a 20k average due to stadium capacity.

Credit to Manly, they have a low ceiling of 17.5k but at least they’re filling it. Hopefully they can get Brooki to low-mid 20’s.

Souths should see a rise if they get the Allianz move sorted.

Eels are set. Minor nitpick is they should move Easter Monday back to Accor.

Panthers will be set once stadium is done. Do the southern end to get it to 28k eventually.

Tigers are at least moving some games to bigger stadiums, getting Campbelltown to 25k is key for them.

Sharks? no idea.

Absolute rubbish. Brentford and Bournemouth are pretty well established EPL clubs and aren't going down anytime soon. Meanwhile there are plenty of clubs with 30K plus stadiums that have been languishing in the Championship and League One for decades.

The stadium itself has very little to do with how a club performs on the field.

Maestrov is a miracle worker.

Perfect hire after the f**king Rainbow Jersey disaster.

Just needs the on-field shit sorted out lol. He's got the joint packed out for a very mid football team.

I think a home game or two at the SFS might be a requirement if things continue.

A new western stand similar to the new western stand Penrith are getting would nearly bring it up to standard. Not sure how much it would cost?
Hard to do with units behind it and a large stand obstructing views

Shark park hasn’t got much room for upgrades

Maybe something behind the posts on the east

The et and Peter burns stands were always built way too small and now it’s too late to fix it

Tigers should be 3 lo or one lo 2 Allianz
9 Campbelltown

Then work on getting it upgraded (25 to 30k?)

Saints should be 9 gong, 1 kogarah and 2 Allianz (gong to 30 to 40k?)

Sharks won’t want to move games when the leagues club is open they are spending 19 million on the refurb

The money sharks miss out on crowds they will more than make up for from the leagues club

Not every club should move away from their territory.
