Gallen is the problem at the Sharks

Under Gallens reign as captain at the Sharks the clubs culture has become toxic and just a big boys club.

Tonight on the news they asked Gallen about Sharpe quitting the first thing Gallen did was burst out laughing. That pretty much sums Gallen up.

If the Sharks board had any stones they'd strip him of his Captaincy asap.

Gallen was known for one thing before being made captain of the Sharks and NSW - being a grub. That's only half the problem with Gallen.

As a player, he always puts himself first - even Phil Gould alluded to this in the last State of Origin, saying that Gallen needed to get out of the play in the Queensland half.

So no, not surprised that the Sharks have been on a general downward trajectory under Gallens' leadership.

whether or not he's a dick - every time he plays he plays huge...

There are other things wrong, obviously

From what they said on one news report, Gallen laughed due to "jokers in the team" trying to put him off during the interview. Though given what he said about Sharpe last week, you could hardly expect him to burst into tears at the question.

How can Gallen be the problem...you guys are deluded.

Sharp was a crap coach and the whole direction of the club is screwed as well.

Sack the board IMO.

Gallen is a super player but I really don't rate him as a leader. Hasn't got much class tbh.

If a leader is judged by his actions on the field then Gallen can never, ever be questioned. Plays his guts out every week. Does he lack "class". Possibly. I dare say there's not too many captains of first grade league teams who have had to go through what he has over the past nearly 18 months (ASADA ordeal). The pressure and stress would have broken many a man long ago. Add the Todd Carney scandal, the makeshift coach quiting etc etc. He's at least given it a good crack yeah??

I was gonna scoff at first but after thinking I think you actually might be right. Sad thing is now he's gonna be lauded for finally leading NSW to a win after 17 tries. Gallen for prime minister.
