In all seriousness though if he did suffer a potentially season ending injury then he's obviously disappointed and said this in the heat of the moment. He may be a grub, but he's got more footy passion than just about anyone.

In 2002, I did an ankle in trials, in '04 I hurt my hamstring. In '06 it was my back and in '07 I injured my ankle and missed nine games.
"It probably sounds like I'm whingeing and I know there are games like the Charity Shield and World Club Challenge, but trial games can give clubs a heap of injuries. Everyone holds their breath in trial games. Everyone just hopes players get through it unscathed.

I agree, it's a comment from someone who is not only frustrated but also extremely upset that he is once again injured for the curtain raiser.

The guy really loves the Sharks but more so his footy, you can quote me on that too.

I stand by my remark's that this bloke is a grub. Doesn't mean that he isn't a good footballer. In fact, most good footballers have that element of grub in them, but if you play dirty on the field you should expect a certain level of contempt for you from spectators of other teams.

As for his comments. There is always a certain element of people that call for Trials to be banned. I myself have said that this should be the case. Fact of the matter is that most players and coaches agree that they do get something out of trials so they are here to stay. I don't believe that anyone forces an individual club to partake in trial matches, so I guess the Sharks are welcome to give them a miss from here on in if they like. I bet they don't though.

What he could have said was "This is a bit of bad luck, but if its going to happen it is better to happen now than in the middle of the season"

A grub to me is someone who deliberately rips stitches out of someones face to try and put them off their game.

My heart bleeds for gallen it truly does. I hope he's out for the 12 weeks instead of the two.
